1

Start off by making a circle for the head, then draw the long line that is coming from the back of the shape you just made.

2

Here you will draw out the actual shape of the helmet. Notice the piece that covers the ear.

3

Next, draw in the face grill which is attached to the helmet with hinges.

4

Here you will draw the lines on the face plate which will ultimately make it look like a grill. Sketch in the detailing around the edge of the helmet trim, then draw the hinge that holds the grill in place.

5

The next thing we will do is draw the hair plume which is the ponytail looking part of the knight's helmet. Draw the base first which is a shaft, then draw the hair.

6

Detail the hair plume like so, then begin erasing the mistakes you may have made.

7

When all is finished the knight style helmet should look like the one you see here. Color it in, and use what you learned to make a knight.

Description: I'm not going to lie, I don't usually make tutorials based on any types of armor so for me to make a tutorial on "how to draw a helmet" is a rare thing you will see from me. The reason why I made this lesson is because someone asked if I make a tutorial on a knight style helmet. There are many types of knight helmets and each one has their own name. I'm pretty sure this one is actually some form of bascinet. Bascinets where usually worn by knights as they where part of the suits armor. Sometimes these helmets had gold colored pieces on them for added detail and beauty, and other times knights wore just plain armor helmets without the hair plume. Anyways, this should prove to be a fun lesson especially if you like armor related stuff. Enjoy people and make sure to leave your feedback.
