How to Draw a Pterodactyl For Kids

1

Make the basic frame work for your new Pterodactyl. Start with a head, neck, body and wing guide.

2

Begin sketching out the head and snout for your new dinosaur. As you know Pterodactyls have horn like head, and cone like snouts. Draw the mouth and neck then proceed to step three.

3

You will now draw out the large eyes, then color in the pupils. Add some scale marks on the forehead which is how their reptile skin looks.

4

Draw the shape of the body, then draw in the simple legs and feet.

5

Drawing Pterodactyl wings is usually a complex thing to tackle. But since this is for kids, they will be as easy as eating pie. Draw the wings like so, then proceed to step six.

6

Add detailing to the wings then draw the arm definition which shapes out the wing.

7

Lastly, add some more scale marks on the skin, then draw the belly marking. Erase the mistakes if you made any then you're done.

8

Here is how your Pterodactyl looks when you are all done. Color it in and that's it.

Description: Here is something for the kiddies. Like I have said in the past drawing dinosaurs is a very popular thing to create when you are a young artist. My youngest sister who is nine loves drawing dinosaurs. So these tutorials are for her and for other folks that love making drawings on their favorite reptiles from millions, billions or even trillions of years ago. Today we will be learning "how to draw a Pterodactyl For Kids". This flying dinosaur became even more popular with the release of 'A Land Before Time' which is the adventures of Littlefoot and his friends. I had fun with making this dinosaur because I too love drawing them no matter how old I am. So I hope you have fun too, I will be back so stick around. Adios mi amigos!
