How to Draw Faces For Kids
Step 1. Before you draw hair, you must realize that the head is a round surface. Therefore, hair will not look perfectly straight once on that surface. It grows outwards and morphs around the form of the head.
Step 2. Know that, hair should be drawn with a slight distance away from the scalp. Unlike wet hair, normal hair will have volume and bounce.
Step 3. Here's various hairstyles you can draw your characters with. Reference photos of models, people, celebrities and integrate their features within your art!
Step 4. We will first tackle the many styles of eyes that you can choose to draw for your face. Start by making the proper arches for the shapes of the eyes, then draw in the eyeballs or pupils. When that task is complete you can color in the pupils, add some spots for a gloss effect, then add the eyebrows.
Step 5. Here is how to draw different faces using a real simple technique. You will start by drawing the shapes of the face you like. When that is done proceed on with adding the eyes, color in the eyeballs if applicable, then draw in the noses, mouths, and teeth or tongues too. Finish drawing your face by sketching out their hairstyle. As you can see I made three to choose from.
Step 6. Make the shape for the head, then sketch in the facial guidelines.
Step 7. Sketch out the shape of the face like so, then draw in the ear before moving along.
Step 8. Here we will begin drawing out the hairstyle. For this face I choose something simple, which is a short style with pointed ends. The bangs are going to be full looking too.
Step 9. Draw out the shapes of the eyes, then sketch in the nose, smile, blush marks on her cheeks, then add the eyebrows, and detailing inside of the ear.
Step 10. Finish up this face by drawing the shape of her neck, followed by some of her torso which is the shoulders, and neck line or shirt collar. Erase the mistakes like so.
Step 11. Here is the simple looking face you should see before you. If you decided to go with a different style face, good for you and upload your works for other artists to see. Great job!
