How to Draw Shane Walsh, Shane Walsh From The Walking Dead

Step 1.

So here is a step by step lesson on drawing Shane as he appears in zombie or walker form. Start with the shape for the head, then add some facial guidelines. You will begin sketching out the structure of the head and face like so, then draw in the ears, mouth outline, then the nose and eye shapes. Sketch in the detailing on the cheeks as well as in the will then draw in the eyebrows, as well as the the frown crease lines around the nose and mouth. Add some detailing to the mouth like so, then draw the gash on the bridge of his nose. Detail the forehead, then sketch in blood which is dripping down the nose, under the nose, and all on his chin There is also blood coming from the mouth so be sure to sketch that in as well. Once that is done you can draw out the shape of his neck, and then his shoulders.

Step 2.

Now how about a profile of zombie Shane. Add a circle for the head then draw the cone shape for the chin or jaw structure. Sketch out the profile of his face structure followed by his eye, and all the detailing that covers the nose, mouth inside the mouth and chin. Lastly, finish the shape of the head followed by the neck, shirt collar, and ear. You will also need to sketch in all the detailing and definition on his face and don't forget to draw in the eyebrow.

Step 3.

Now let's draw Shane as we first knew him. Start with an oblong shape for the head then sketch in the facial guidelines as well as the shoulder and neck guides.

Step 4.

Using the shape you just made, begin sketching out Shane's face structure as well as his hair line right at the base. The lining should be spiked and short.

Step 5.

Using the facial guides draw out the eyes. Shane has the nose of a boxer so you will need to sketch out the shape of his nose, then draw the top line for his lip. Sketch in detailing to the nose like so, then proceed to step six.

Step 6.

We will move onto finishing the mouth which can be done by adding some simple mouth lines in a contour form. Add all the definition around the lower portion of the face as well as detail around the eyes.

Step 7.

It's now time to sketch out the rest of Shane's hairstyle which is a very simple combed back style. The edging of the outer hair line should also be pointed or sharp. Sketch the ears into shape, add detailing on the forehead, between the eyes, and inside of the ears. You will draw and color in his semi thick eyebrows, then color in the pupils.

Step 8.

For the last drawing step you will need to draw out the shape of his neck, then draw the shoulders, shirt collar, and then add detailing to the neck as well. Erase your mistakes so you have a clean image to color in.

Step 9.

Here is Shane Walsh when you're done. Add some color then ask folks if they know who he is.

Yup, I had to do it. As I watched The Walking Dead from the first season to the third, I realized that Shane was such an awesome character that shouldn't have been killed off so early. He is, or was one of my favorite characters from the series even if he did go a little crazy towards the end. Shane Walsh cared very much for Rick and his family even before he started messing around with Lori. I really wanted to capture Shane's look which is serious, stern, and vengeful. I didn't think that I was going to be able to create the look of Shane, but I did. Anyways, some may feel that Shane was dead weight, but to me I feel that is not even possible. That's all I have for this lesson on drawing Shane Walsh, have fun and stick around for more tuts coming your way. Peace out folks.
