Begin by making a mound like shape that looks almost like a triangle.

2

To give some dimension to the shape draw in two lines that tapper at the top. Draw in the painted on bear footprint on the tepee like so, then add the flap for the opening as well as the thread holes along the edge.

3

Lastly, draw the other side of the tepee with another open flap. Draw the sticks poking out at the top, then erase the mistakes.

Here is what the tepee for kids looks like when you are all done. You can use this tepee for other art adventures if you have wanted to draw a Native American scenery.

Description: How can I make a tutorial on an Indian without making a lesson on one of their homes. Back in the beginning when man fought Indians or thought of them as savages, Native Americans roamed free on American soil and lived a very harmonious lifestyle. They kept to themselves and only fought with other tribes when a it was decided that a battle is necessary. Unlike the houses we all live in today, Native Americans used to reside in huts made of animal skin (usually buffalo), and long strong branches. The branches where used as the frame, and the skin canvas was placed over the sticks. When completed they lived in what you call tepees. Today we will be learning "how to draw a tepee for kids", step by step. This lesson will be useful for people that love drawing Native American related stuff. I had a lot of fun making this drawing because I love anything that has to do with Native American culture. This is going to be a simple task to complete so have fun drawing a tepee for kids as I prepare my next tutorial for you all. Adios people!
