1

Draw out the base of the gravestone like so, then move to step two.

2

The next thing you need to do is draw out the actual shape of the headstone. There should be a notch on the top of the headstone like you see here and the base should be dimensional.

3

Next, draw the engraved border inside of the stone, then sketch out the cracks.

4

Lastly, draw the R.I.P, and erase your mistakes.

5

Here is what your gravestone looks like when you're finished. Now either use the drawing for Halloween, or use it in a scenery sketch.

Description: Ooooohhhh spooky! Now here is what I cal an exciting, simple, tattered looking gravestone that looks like the gravestones from some of my favorite cartoons, movies, and comics. Today I will be showing you "how to draw a gravestone", step by step. We will, or are seeing lots of gravestones scattered on suburbian lawns from all over the place in my country. Along with pumpkins, leaves, ghouls, ghosts, spiders, and webs. Pretty soon when folks are trick or treating, you will also be seeing different types of costumes of characters from all sorts of pop culture. This gravestone can also be used for other purposes as well. I just wrote your typical "R.I.P" on the stone to keep it simple. You can actually draw an engraving of you like to make this headstone personable. I hope you enjoy, and remember to stay out of those graveyards this year, you don't want to come home and find yourself drawing cemeteries from being traumatized. Peace!
