Okay lets start this first by drawing out the circle shape for the top of the bulb like head and then add the shape of the bottom of the head. When finished the head should come out looking like a light bulb. From the bulb shape add the eight lines f

Now you will draw out the oval shapes of the eyes and then thicken the legs as shown here and when you do this make sure the tips are pointed as you see here in this second step.

In this next step you will thicken the arms once again until they look full and thick like they should be. Once that is complete you will then detail around the top and side of the eyes making them look bulging. And that is pretty much it for this st

Well this is your last drawing step and all you will do here is draw out the remainder of the shape of the arms in the back of the octopuses body. Once that is complete draw out several suckers under the arms shown here and then add some eyeballs. On

Once you are done your octopus should come out looking like this one. You have just learned how to draw an octopus step by step. All you have to do now is color it in and that is it you are done. I hope you have learned something new today with this

Description: Welcome back once again everyone to another drawing tutorial here on DragoArt.com. For my lesson I will show you how to draw an octopus step by step. As you know this saltwater sea animal spends its days and night on the sandy ground of the ocean. Octopuses have large rounded bulb shaped heads, big buggy looking eyes, and eight long arms with a bunch of suckers under each and every arm just like the squid. Now the octopus is an invertebrate animal that has a diet of a carnivore eating things like crabs, crayfish, and mollusks. What makes this sea creature so special you ask? Well for one they have an extremely unique hiding ability when it comes to defending themselves from prey. A common octopus has the ability to instantaneously camouflage itself to match the colors, patterns, and some textures of its environment. What kind of predators seek out to munch on octopus? Well for one, sharks are a big fan of octopus as well as dolphins and even some eels. The average lifespan of the octopus in the wild is only one to two years. I know, you would think that an animal that is so cleaver hiding from its enemies lived a lot longer in the waters they thrive in. What about the black substance that they squirt out is that really true you ask? The answer is yes, when octopus feel threatened they will sometimes shoot out a black ink like liquid so that they can get away and slide under a rock. The ink is also used to hide the scent of the octopus so that a trail of its smell is also lost with him as well. But that is not all they have up their sleeve to get away from the clutches of predators, they also use their beaklike jaw that penetrates a stinging bite with venomous saliva, this technique is also used to stun and paralyze their prey as well. No matter how you look at the octopus, they are definitely one of the coolest things living in the water today. This tutorial will show you an easy way to learn how to draw an octopus step by step. I will be back soon with more drawing fun so stay tuned guys I shall return.
