How to Draw Chibi Glimmer, hunger games tribute

Step 1.

I'm not in a particullarly chatty mood today, so I'll just cut right to the chase. The guidelines aren't typical for a chibi, but there's a reason I added all those extra lines. Just draw them to the best of your ability, and keep your lines light.

Step 2.

We'll start with the hairline, which is generally easy. Don't foorget the other lines on the right side of her head. We'll also start her left leg, just two simple lines should do it.

Step 3.

Draw the outliine of ther face. to the left of her face we'll be adding a little hair, and to the right a row of rectangles along the first curved line. These will make up one of her curls. It's a tecnique I learned from Ghostity's "How to Draw Curly Hair" tut. We'll also be drawing her left foot and right leg.

Step 4.

We'll be continuing her hair on the left side, which shouldn't be too tricky. Also, let's complete her curl by connecting each of the rectangles with diagonal lines. At the bottom, define her boots with a few slightly curved lines.

Step 5.

Draw her neck with two lines, the one on the right slightly shorter than the other. Repeat what we did in step three for her second curl. Remember, keep all of your lines light and sketchy right now, only when you like what you drew is when you go over these with hard lines.

Step 6.

for the curl, repeat what we did in step four. Draw one side of her torso. Don't forget to draw the laces on her boots, then continue to the next step.

Step 7.

Start her third curl, which is longer than the other two. Take your time, and once the rectangles are done, draw her left arm. It should bend, but shouldn't touch her hair or her legs.

Step 8.

Complete her curl. (Don't worry, you won't have to draw any more. Hehe, you should've seen my relief when I finished them!) Then, draw her left hand and right arm in any order you like. Her left hand shouldn't touch her legs, and her right hand should overlap with the curved guideline (see the picture for reference.)

Step 9.

draw the hair on the top of her head (wouldn't want her to be partly bald) and then draw three parallel lines in her right hand. (they have to be perfectly straight, so use a ruler for help) Once that's done, draw a slightly jittery-edged rectangle in her right hand.

Step 10.

Draw the arrows' details, then move onto the top half of the bow. I can't really explain in words how to draw it, so look at the picture. Then draw the bottom parts of her eyes.

Step 11.

Finish her eyes, bow, and then her nose. Not too terribly difficult, right? Well, then I guess there's not much to say. Go to the next step, and be preparred to read a lot.

Step 12.

Well, here's the colored, shaded, final product. I'm so sorry I couldn't include the lineart, but I usually set the guidelines on a different layerso that deleting them is easy, but I forgot to this time. As I said in the comments, Glimmer isn't my favorite character, but I confess that the scene where she dies in both the book and the movie is pretty awesome. I plan to draw all of the named tributes in chibi, but if there are any you'd like to see sooner than others, please comment. I hope you've had fun drawin Glimmer from District 1! :)

Well, most of you have read the book, seen the movie, and drawn the pin. I've done all of those things too, and it's an understatement to say I'm obsessed with the hunger games. Recently I went to draw all of the named tributes in chibi, but when i looked at the chibi category, there were only katniss, peeta, and gale. I looked online, in different tuts, and back at the book, and I finally composed a decent chibi Glimmer from district one. She's not my favorite tribute, but she turned out pretty cool. Next I'll be drawing chibi Clove, so keep looking! Also, if you want other tributes, please comment either here or on my profile.
