You will be drawing a heart lock, which means you will begin by making a heart shapes. You can draw any type of heart shape you like.

2

Draw the border which will be colored in gold, and at the same time, draw the skeleton keyhole in the center like you see here.

Before moving to the next step, I wanted to show you how easy it is to draw a chain or chain links. Here is a simple lesson that shows you how to draw a link of a chain. You can draw the length of a chain just by connecting the pieces together.

4

Using what you learned from step three, begin drawing the chain which is wrapped around the heart like you see here. Sketch in some detailing and definition on the chain's steel.

Next, draw the lock loop like you see here, and add some detailing to it as well. This will give the lock an aged look and feel.

Here is a step all by itself that shows you how to draw leaves. I was going to draw ivy leaves, but I went with a simple concept instead. There is only four simple steps to drawing a vine leaf like so, and notice the nice detailing on the leaf in the

When you are done, you should end up with a drawing that looks like the one you see here. Of course you have to ink out your drawing for the bold defined look.

Description: Well, I will start my new drawing day with another awesome lesson that is both good for regular art drawings, as well as a nice tattoo design. The idea to do a tutorial like the one you see here, came to me after I saw some of Christina Perri's body tattoo art. I noticed she had a tattoo of a heart with a skeleton key hole. So after raking through some ideas, I came up with the design you see here. So today I will show you "how to draw a heart lock", step by step. Even though the design of the heart lock may look a bit complex, it's actually quite simple. All the objects and concepts in the design are large enough to draw accurately, and they are also easy to detail. Like always you can add your own personal tweaks to personalize your heart lock. This would make an incredible tattoo design on any female that loves heart tattoos. I'm not sure if males would get something like this tattooed on their bodies since it's way to girly, but that's just my personal opinion. Anyways, I'm so excited to be bringing you this lesson on drawing a heart lock because to me it came out beautiful. I should probably just zip it and let you guys get busy. I will be back with some more drawing fun. Peace out folks and be sure to send me some feedback on your thoughts.
