The African Elephant is popular animal children get excited to see at the zoo. They are enormous dense powerful animals that everyone loves. These tutorials show you how to sketch one of these big beautiful animals with only a few steps. But here are some quick facts about the Elephant that you don’t know. Did you know that elephants reach puberty at the ages of thirteen and fourteen years old? They also have their offspring up until they are fifty, WOW! Elephants can also live a little over seventy years old. It can take an elephant between two and a half to three years before her calf is ready to be born. Did you also know that the elephant’s trunk has over 100,000 muscles? Elephants can also cry and play, they have incredible memories, and laugh too. The elephant is more like a human then most people realize, elephants actually grieve if they have a stillborn, lose a family member and most of them get emotional when other elephants die that have no relation. A big question folks ask is “Do elephants really drink with their trunks?” The answer is no, they use them as a tool to drink with. What they do is fill up the trunk with water and use it like a hose to gush the water into their mouths. Any way you look at it the Elephant is an incredible species that doesn’t get enough credit for who they are. Enjoy this tutorial and be creative when drawing the elephant.
