Call me Shift. I've been drawing for years, ever since I was 6 or 7. I draw mostly animals and cartoons, but I'm starting to work on people. Drawing has got to be one of my favorite things to do. Not only do I have fun doing it, but I can express myself through it. I'm also a firm believer that anyone can learn to draw if they put their heart into it - so in other words, PRACTICE! Unlike most people, I also don't have a problem with tracing. Tracing can actually teach you how to hold a steady hand and to watch for details that can make or break a drawing. Then, once you feel like you have a firm grip on that, you can graduate to free-handing. Tutorials can really help in that regard. Anyway, I'm about done boring you with my lectures. The rest is below. Any questions? Comment me.
Tools of the trade
Standard No. 2 or lead pencil. Colored pencils (on occasion). Eraser. Pepper - er, paper.
Besides drawing, I also like to write stories. I mostly write fantasy and realistic, but I am best at fantasy. I will sometimes also write in the 'Wtf' genre, in which I pretty much write something for my entertainment. They're not necessarily about anything, they don't necessarily make sense, and they tend to end rather abruptly. A good example of this would be 'Uncomfortable Style,' which you can find on my dA. I also play Magic: the Gathering and have a large and growing collection of cards that all but prevents me from using my record player. Poor thing. Lastly, I like to play video games on my PS4, PS3, and sometimes my PS2 or Wii. Some of my favorite games are Dragon Age: Origins, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Assassin's Creed II, Okami, Spyro the Dragon (classic), Sly Cooper, and Sonic the Hedgehog. RPGs are my favorite video game genre. I'm generally uninterested in shooters/war games, MMOs, and sports titles.
Favourite books
Eragon, Harry Potter, Seraphina, The Hunger Games, The Lord of the Rings (yes, I've actually read those), the Dresden Files, Redwall, To Kill a Mockingbird, Death Note, and Off-White. I am generally not a fan of the romance genre, and I have a love-hate relationship with YAs.
Favourite movies
The Dark Knight, Inception, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hunger Games, Insidious, Underworld, Van Helsing, Clue, The Breakfast Club, The Crow, and Psycho. My favorite TV Shows include: Death Note, InuYasha, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and...that's about all I can think of. I'm not big on watching TV anymore. I watch a lot of anime, but I wouldn't call a lot of them "favorites."
Favourite music
Styx, The Doors, The Beatles, Kansas, Rush, Yes, Cheap Trick, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Queen, Pearl Jam, System of a Down. I am generally not a fan of pop, rap, hip-hop, or blues. I am on-and-off with country. It mostly bores the hell out of me.
