How to Draw a Dollar Bill Sign

Well now that I submitted tutorials on a few drawing lessons on tattoo art, I will now submit a tutorial on a popular symbol that is seen and used almost everywhere whether it be on clothing, jewelry, or accessories like pocket books and clips. So with out further ado I will be showing you how to draw a dollar bill sign step by step. Even though this symbol can technically be used as tattoo art, I just couldn’t see myself marking my body with a dollar bill symbol unless I was filthy rich. We as people naturally associate the dollar sign with money and that is totally normal. Here is a cool fact about the dollar sign that some of you may not know; the symbol belonged to British North America and Mexico back in the 1700’s. The first currency it was attached to was the Spanish peso. It wasn’t until the year of 1785 that the $ symbol was used for and adopted by the United States. That is where the term "dollar" comes from as well as the “$” sign. Cool huh? There are several other currencies that use this symbol. Places like Brazil, Cape Verde, Chili, and Portugal us a similar symbol with their currency, the only difference is the “$” has two horizontal lines instead of one, it is called the cifrão. I chose to do a tutorial on this particular symbol because it is used everyday. There is several music artist as well as actors that have medallions made out of platinum that they wear around their necks as necklaces, and for belt buckles as well. You can also buy name brand clothing with the dollar sign symbol scattered around on shirts, pants, hats, and even boxers and panties. The dollar bill sign has become a symbol of pop culture over the past few years and it will probably remain a trendy icon for some time. In this drawing lesson you will learn how to draw a dollar sign step by step. There are a total of only four steps which means this tutorial will be a breeze. When you are done you can color it in pink, blue, green, purple or any other color you choose.
