So last night during my LiveStream, I painted up a painting which is a minimal half face; creating visual tension and curiosity of what the rest of the face looks like. I wanted this piece to be mysterious and intimidating to create a nice look. The total time to finish this drawing was an hour, with the rest of the stream, I completed a tutorial on a tea cup. Lots of folks enjoyed the creation of this drawing during the stream and I had so much fun rendering it, especially adding the grungy textures and green/blue colors which portray darkness and cruel intentions. The face is asexual, meaning it's neither male or female. If you wanted to finish the entire drawing off and make it seem more feminine or masculine, be my guest. There was tons of music that inspired this piece like Tool, Nine Inch Nails, and a bit of Manson. When it comes to macabre art like this, you should listen to darkly tunes and feel emotion as you work on it. Anyways, it was so much fun painting this drawing during the livestream. STEP 1.
Draw a horizontal like for the length of the eye and then a vertical line through the other for the width of the eye.
STEP 2.
Starting with a light sketch stroke, begin drawing the top of the eyebrow bone like so in a shading style. Be sure to make the exact shape of the brow like you see here.
STEP 3.
Using a semi thin stroke, draw the shape of the eye like so, and then draw the actual eyeball or iris. Draw a darkened slit style pupil and move along.
STEP 4.
Begin sketching out the hair for the eyebrow, and then draw in the top long lashes like so, as well as inner part of the bottom lid. Sketch the lashes and add detail and texture definition.
STEP 5.
Sketch the fine shape of the nose and then under the eye. Sketch the nostril and nose tip like so as well before you leave this step.
STEP 6.
With shading and color your evil face should come out looking like the one you see here. Great work everyone and come back real soon.1 Page Result
