How to Draw Dumbo

I know that you must be thinking I am a work-aholic. But the truth is I really love drawing, I mean I love it so much that I draw every single day. I buy books on how to become a better artist every month, and every night I practice drawing different things. I know that I am not perfect at everything but I believe that I am getting better. If you look back at some of my old tutorials they look way different than the ones I submit now. You can see how my work has gotten better over a years time. I know that many of you are growing artist as well, and I only hope that you find my tutorials helpful in some way shape or form. I have been doing a lot of sketching on paper lately because I find that I need to feel the texture of a pencil hitting the paper on my finger tips. In this next tutorial I wanted to draw another Disney character from my past because I thought that many of you would want to learn from this particular lesson. So now I will show you "how to draw Dumbo", step by step. I know right? I love Dumbo too, he is such an adorable little elephant that doesn't deserve the treatment he gets from his fellow elephants and humans alike. This animated Disney movie is about a circus elephant named Mrs. Jumbo. Now she was expecting an arrival from the stork one day while all the circus animals were being transported by train. As the expecting mother anxiously waited for her little one, she was accompanied by her other circus elephants Catty, Giddy, and Prissy. When she finally receives her delivery everyone is waiting to see what he looks like. Finally Mrs. Jumbo opens up the sheet and reveals little Jumbo Jr. but to the other elephants they call him Dumbo because he has humongous elephant ears. He later gets ripped apart from his mother because she tried to protect him from a human boy that was making fun of him. As he sat there all alone and scared he meets up with a mouse named Timothy Q. Mouse. His new found friend helps him take control over his situation and regain the respect he deserves. While he teaches him how to do this, one day they both found out that little Dumbo could fly using his ears. This makes Dumbo an instant star and because of his big old' ears everyone falls in love with him and he gets reunited with his mother.
