How to Draw the Green Day Heart Grenade, Letters

Now that I've shown you how to draw Pinocchio and Dumbo, I will shy away from the Disney characters for a moment and switch to something more...exciting. Right now I will go to the music side of me and show you how to draw the Green Day heart grenade and letters. Green Day happens to be a band that I enjoy listening to very much. At first when I heard their music I thought that they were a band from England or something because they had that retro look and style. It wasn't until I watched an interview with the band on a cable broadcast music channel that I found out that they were in fact an all American rock band. The band believe it or not formed before I was born back in 1987, but this was before they were famous. The band was formed by two good friends named Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt when they were only fifteen years old. The name of their first band was called “Sweet Children”. During this time they played a few gigs and later hired John Kiffmeyer as their drummer and manager back in 88. As soon as 1989 came they already recorded their first ep with Lookout! Records called 1,000 Hours. All this was done by the time they were seventeen years old as well as the name change. They decided to loss their name of “Sweet Children” to Green Day right before their first ep was released. After just a year later they released their first LP 39/Smooth, Slappy, and Sweet Children. It wasn't until the late 90's that the drummer left and Tre Cool stepped in as their drummer during their first world tour. During the year of 1994 the band got their first breakthrough when they released the album “Dookie” which was recorded in three weeks. Two of the songs from that album is what made them a noticed out and coming band and they were called “Longview” and “Basket Case”. The next album was so good that they won their first Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album in 1995 and they were nominated for nine MTV Video Music Awards. I personally love their music it is very ear catching and I love their style. I think that Billie Joe Armstrong has such a cute voice, it is so mellow and friendly sounding when ever I listen to him sing. In this tutorial I will show you how to draw the Green Day heart grenade and letters step by step. I tried to make this tutorial as easy as possible so enjoy. If you like you may want to use a ruler because their is a lot of straight lines to draw out for the letters.
