What’s up everyone, I’m back and with my return I have a lesson on "how to draw a griffin head", step by step. I’m not going to say much because what more can I say about the gryphon. Someone actually asked me if I could make a cool drawing of just the head of a griffin, and because I love these creatures from myth, I went ahead and sketched one out. I think you will enjoy this tutorial because there is no way that you will find it boring or even a waste of time. I tried to break down the drawing into easy to follow steps so that folks from all skill levels can try and tackle this tutorial. No matter how you look at it, making your very own sketch of a griffin's head is probably going to be one of the coolest drawings you will do today, unless of course you’re not into methodical creatures. STEP 1.
Make a simple circle for the head and then draw in a face guide.
STEP 2.
Using the circle as your guide, draw out the forehead and bill of the griffin like so. Be sure to make the hook shaped tip on the beak like it is here.
STEP 3.
Next, sketch in the bottom part of the mouth, and then draw the marking line that separates the beak from the head or face. Sketch in some detailing and then draw out the eye, and brow line like so.
STEP 4.
Continue to sketch out the griffin's head. The lining should be jagged since you are trying to create a feathery texture. Once the neck, some of the chest, and back of the head and neck is all drawn in, you can sketch the large ear in and add some detailing.
STEP 5.
You are almost done guys so keep on going. Step five involves you drawing in the lion like mane. The lining should be straight, full of angles and pointy at the tips of each chunk of hair. Sketch in the detailing on the mane and then draw in the tissue definition inside of the ear like so.
STEP 6.
For the last step all that is need is the addition of the whisker which is long, narrow and ends in a spoon like shape. Erase all the guides you made in step one and then add some final touch ups.
STEP 7.
Here is the line art once you are all done. See, I told you that drawing a griffins head wouldn't be that hard. Color in your art and you are all done.Comments: Post Comment
