How to Draw a Tribal Wolf, Tribal Wolf

This tutorial was made about two days ago and it isn’t till now that I am submitting it. Before I get to uploading the really cool tutorials I have for all of you, I wanted to first show you "how to draw a tribal wolf", step by step. The concept for the wolf’s design was a bit tricky because I didn't know how to approach such a task. The contours of a wolf’s head and face is so detailed and strong, and because of the tribal pattern that I needed to create, it must also reflect how gorgeous and stern these animals are. After some trial and error, I finally came up with an idea and that is what you see before you now. This is going to be a complex lesson to follow and understand, but if you take your time and try not to rush, I feel confident that you will get through the task with minimal damage to your analytical brain. I will be back in a few because there is still more lessons that needs to be uploaded by me. I hope you enjoy this learning experience as you teach yourself "how to draw a tribal wolf". Thanks guys and good luck!

STEP 1.

I'm going to try and break down this tutorial to the best of my ability. Start with one line which is going to be for the wolf's forehead, snout, and add the horizontal guide for the eyes.

STEP 2.

Now the tribal drawing begins as you start sketching out the eyes of the wolf. There should be bold, darkened areas like you see here but the white left uncolored is how the eyes are going to be visible.

STEP 3.

This is probably going to be another easy step to follow because all you will have to do is slowly sketch out the shape of the wolf's snout and be sure the the lip line is dark and sort of bold. Sketch in the shape of the nose tip and color it in, and then draw in some simple tribal marks under the eyes and on the snout a bit.

STEP 4.

Again, take your time so the sketched drawing of this tribal wolf gets done correctly. Sketch out the shapes of the large ears, and then proceed to draw out the head back of the neck, and the left side cheek. The lining will start off simple, but then you have to go back and darken everything. Some of the lining should also be sharper then others. Don't leave this step until your tribal wolf looks like the one you see here.

STEP 5.

Don't fret guys, you are all almost done. Here you need to take your time too because you need to draw out the tribal marks on the ears, forehead, and along the right side of the entire cheek. Color in the tribal pattern and move to step six where you will be finishing off this lesson. Hint: the tribal marks at this point are drawn like zebra stripes.

STEP 6.

It's finally time to finish off this tribal wolf. You will do so by drawing in tribal marks that are flowing in a left sideways style. Some of the tips and edges of the tribal lines are sharp, and pointed. When you feel that you have done a good job, you can start cleaning up your work.

STEP 7.

When you are finally done, here is what your tribal wolf comes out looking like. Did you think this was a hard task, or did you think that it wasn't that bad? Let me know either way.

Dawn, do you know how amazing, awesome, and creative you are? You have inspired me to draw all the Tribal series. You are one of a kind, and have taught me to draw better than before. If any one tries to make you sad, just remeber how you and your fans think of you. You have made our world come one step closer to loving art, and showing them that they are art them selves. Wolves are my favorite animal, and even though that is unusual, I love them any way. My whole school knows about you, Dawn. You are like powerful fire, that can't be put out. And, because of you, my future's so bright, I've gotta wear shades. I hope you comment because, I have never been commented on before. But just rember, you are truly amazing.
