How to Draw Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid, Solid Snake
I don’t know how true it is, but I read somewhere the other day that a movie based on Solid Snake is going to be in theaters sometime in 2012. Just in case this rumor is true, I wanted to make a tutorial on "how to draw Metal Gear Solid", step by step. Of course the main image had to be Solid Snake, and since I don’t have a decent tutorial on this character from one of the world’s most popular video games, I made it happen by sketching out a face shot of Solid Snake and turned it into a fun and exciting lesson that video game fans will love. I myself have played this game and so has everyone in my family. Metal Gear Solid is by far one of the classic console games that have ever been created along with Castlevania. I think you will find that when taking on the task to "draw Metal Gear Solid" or Solid Snake, you will find comfort that it won’t be at all that hard. Anyways on a different note, I just want to say that I watched the most hilarious movie yesterday night and it starred Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, it’s called ‘Get Him to Greek’. I know my like sand dislikes in humor may be different than yours, but if you get a chance just try and sit through the film. STEP 1.
Make an egg shape for the head and then draw out the guides that will create the shoulders and facial guidelines.
STEP 2.
You will begin sketching out the face shape for Solid Snake but before you do so, be sure that the lining is kind of hairy. This is because Snake has a scruffy looking beard. Draw in the line for the headband or bandanna, and then add some hair detailing on the right side of the face.
STEP 3.
Now you will start working on the face by sketching in the left ear which is also going to be detailed on the inside. Draw the eye patch, and then draw the shape of the nose, mouth, and then sketch out his right eye completely. Add some wrinkles on Solid's face, and move along to step four.
STEP 4.
Now that you have the face structure all drawn out, you can begin sketching in the beard, and mustache. Add some facial detailing or definition which is the creases in the face, and the bottom lip and chin needs to be drawn in as well.
STEP 5.
Finish sketching out the bandanna and be sure to add detailing to it as well. Sketch out his head which is also his messy hairstyle and be sure to draw in some pieces scattered all around. Sketch out the back of his hair like so, and move to step six.
STEP 6.
Draw out the tie which is tied behind the head and then move to step seven.
STEP 7.
Sketch out the shape of the neck, and then begin drawing out the collar of his shirt which is sort of lifted off the shoulders. Take your time with this step because you want him to come out awesome.
STEP 8.
For the last step, finish sketching out the upper body which is also the shoulders. Sketch out the clothing, and be sure to draw the straps to his upper body utility belt. Sketch in the wrinkles and folds on the body like so and then erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 9.
Here is what your drawing should come out looking like when you are all done. Now you can color him in to really finish Solid Snake to perfection.Comments: Post Comment

ima clear up this whole MGS confusion for everyone.
MGS1: Solid Snake*clone of Big Boss* Time: i think the 1995
MGS2: Solid Snake & Raiden*some random dude* Time:1999
MGS3: Naked Snake*future Big Boss* Time:1964
MGS4: Old Snake*Solid Snake* his "Eye Patch isent really a Eye patch its a "Solid Eye" tht functions as a NV and Thermal imaging goggles. he has a real eye under it. Time: 2014. This mean if he was Big Boss which he isent he would be like 100 years old
MGS:PW: Big Boss*Naked Snake* Time: 1970 Right after MGS3
so if u read this u should now know that that if u want to play MGS and understand the time. play it in this order...

His eye didnt get shot out! in Metal Gear Solid 4 he has the Solid Eye but he has it for nv and binos NOT bc his eye got shot out. I may be a girl but i no dis stuff!

o, I just wanted to say your art work is epic but there's just one problem... I don't know how anyone hasn't pointed this out... his eye-patch/eye-device is on the wrong eye it was his other eye what got shot out... But still its epic :)
