How to Draw a Scorpion for Kids
Number two is going to be incredibly cute. I figured out a way to make a normally ugly species of animal like the scorpion, and turn it into something epic. I know for a fact that this critter is one animal that a lot of kids or novice artists want to learn how to replicate. Now in order for me to make a simple tutorial on "how to draw a scorpion for kids", step by step, I had to think of a way to make the many parts of a scorpion’s body into just a whole or two piece concept. Unfortunately I had to still make the body in three parts because of the stinger is supposed to be a separate piece to the tail. Normally scorpions have the word ‘death’ or ‘deadly’ trailing behind them. This depiction of a scorpion is going to change what folks believe these creatures to be. When you are done following this lesson on "how to draw a scorpion for kids", you will fall in love with your creation because it is actually that cute. I had sooo much fun with this drawing, and hopefully you guys do too. That is about all I have for you for at least a few hours. STEP 1.
First things first, start with a flat egg or rock like shape for the body of the scorpion. Add one guideline and proceed on.
STEP 2.
The first body part of this animal that you will draw is the front claws. Now since this is a lesson for kids, all you have to do to get the claws drawn is make two pod like shapes with slits in the center like you see here.
STEP 3.
Sketch out the wide shape of the head, and then draw out the arm lines like so.
STEP 4.
Using the one guideline you drew in step one, draw out the shaped for the eyes like you see here, and then draw in some simple eyeballs.
STEP 5.
Now you are ready to draw in the entire body that happens to be shaped like Mr. Hanky's body from South Park. Draw in the stubby legs like so, and then draw in the two part tail and be sure to add a rounded point at the tip.
STEP 6.
For the last drawing step, all you need to do is draw in some detailing or definition lines that will add texture to your scorpion's body. Clean up the drawing and then you are done.
STEP 7.
