1

Make two shapes, one for the head, and another for the body. These two shapes should be touching each other.

2

Sketch out the head and face of the squirrel which is all going to be in a side view. Draw in the ears, and then sketch out the fur that is hanging from the bottom of the cheeks.

3

Next, draw a large shaped eye like so, and then draw in an eyeball. You will then draw a nose tip and then sketch in the squirrels teeth and lower jaw.

4

Draw the front neck line, and then draw in the front arms and paws. Draw the acorn that the squirrel is holding, and then move to step five.

5

Draw out the back of the neck, and then sketch out the arched back, the thighs, and then the long back feet like so. Don't forget to add the lines for the toes.

6

For the last step, all you have to do is draw out the very squared shaped tail which is curled up in a swirl. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one, and then lets see how you did.

7

Look how cute this squirrel came out looking. You can choose a few colors to shade in your new animal like grey, brown or red.

Description: Now is the time to submit some lessons on some more animals for the kids section. What do you say that we learn "how to draw a squirrel for kids", step by step? This time of season is when squirrels start becoming really active because they are going to start preparing for the winter months. They will be collecting acorns and other nuts as they stack them tightly in their tree holes or borrows. I know that drawing squirrels really isn’t all that hard, but when you are a novice artist, you kind of look for the easiest things to draw down to the last line. There is no doubt in my mind that you will enjoy this submission as you tackle the task that teaches you to "draw a squirrel for kids".
