STEP 1.
Start off with the foundations of the drawing. In this case, it is very simple. A circle and a curved line underneath it.
STEP 2.
Now using a darker pencil or an artline pen like I have, define the head more and then draw in the first arm.
STEP 3.
Draw the a line coming from the head just a little off to the left of the foundation line. Once you get to the bottom draw ragged lines for the tattered ends of the robe. The add the little bit of robe on the left side of the drawing.
STEP 4.
Now draw the big eyes and the 'sewn mouth'. Also draw the visible part of the left arm.
STEP 5.
All that's left to do now is put in the little details that complete this drawing. The scars on the head arm and chest, and the little hole in the robe.
STEP 6.
Finally, erase the foundation lines and then you are free to colour it the way you wish. I have gone with cross hatching to give it an eerie kind of effect. This is the end of the tutorial! Hope your drawing went well =PComments: Post Comment

If I were you I'd use graphite its not as messy and can still make the charcoal-scratchy effect...
