How to Draw Meelo, Meelo, Legend of Korra
If you’re wondering why this character looks a little like Aang, that’s because it’s the son of Tenzin, which means he is also the grandson to Aang. Up next is another character from Legend of Korra, and instead of drawing a grown up or older teen, you will be learning "how to draw Meelo", step by step. I wish I could tell you a whole lot more about Meelo, but because he is such a new figure, there is no bio for him because he is technically still a character in the works. I can tell you that he has two sisters named Jinora, and Ikki, and Meelo and his family live on Air Temple Island. The resemblance to Aang is uncanny, but there are some differences that show through. For instance, the short thick eyebrows, and the pig like nose throw off the features to Aang a bit, but if you were to make some subtle changes, he would definitely look like his granddad all the way. Well I guess that’s all I can really say about Meelo, all I can do now is show you "how to draw Meelo" with this super easy tutorial. I had fun, and maybe I will upload a few more tutorials on the characters from Legend of Korra. In the meantime have fun, and try not to break your pencil from drawing to hard.

STEP 1.
Make the shape for Meelo's head and then draw out the guidelines for the face, shoulders, arms, hips, and legs.
STEP 2.
Using the guides you drew in step one, begin drawing out the shape of Meelo's head and then draw in the face. As you can see the shape of the head is kind of wierd, it almost looks like a child version of Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers. Sketch out the structure of the head and face, and then draw in the ears. Using the facial guides, sketch in the eyes, and mouth. Draw and color in the thick eyebrows, and then draw the eyeballs, pupils, upright positioned nose, and then draw out the bottom lip. You will then make the hair lines and add some detailing inside of the ears.
STEP 3.
Draw the shape of the neck, and then draw out the collar of his top. Make sure that you add a small notch on the collar and then maybe some minor detail.
STEP 4.
Continue to draw out the upper body and this should include the shoulders, loose fitting over lapped sleeves and then draw a small opening on his shawl.
STEP 5.
Sketch out the bottom of his shirt and be sure that its drawn to look tucked in at the waist. You will now add the sash and then sketch out his baggy pants. He is wearing the typical attire any Air Nomad would wear.
STEP 6.
Draw out the left arm and hand and then add that shirt sleeve cuff at the wrist. Be sure to add in all of the fingers that are visible.
STEP 7.
Repeat what you just did on the left side and draw in the right arm and hand. Don't forget to sketch in the cuff at the wrist and move to step eight.
STEP 8.
Finish this step by drawing out the rest of his small legs and then draw in his feet. Erase the lines and shapes that you made in step one to finish him off.
STEP 9.
Here is young Meelo when you are done. All that needed now is to color him in. Thanks for joining me today guys, I really had a lot of fun.Comments: Post Comment

Avatar...I followed that show from the very start! I just can't believe they're making a new version of it! I'm not sure whether or not I'll start with this one. Knowing me, I probably will.

And what's wrong with computer made art? It's still drawn from scratch either way. Just instead of using a pencil you're using copmuter generated brushes to color. Shading is still done by hand and smoothed the same way.
You argument is pointless and ignorant, not because it's shaming my art, but shaming digital artists in general.
