How to Draw Birds For Kids

1

Here is a quick reference drawing or example on how different birds heads, and beaks look. As you can see a small bird has a much more simple design because their heads are smaller, and the beaks are less detailed. Medium sized birds start getting tr

2

Now lets begin. Start with two shapes, one for the head, and the other for the body. The two should connect and you will also draw a face guide.

3

Draw out the beaks for both birds. The bird to the left has an arched or clawed beak, and the bird to the right has a flatter, pointed speared type beak.

4

Sketch out the shapes of the heads, and then draw the feathers or crown on the bird's head. Simply draw out the head for the bird to the right and then draw in the neck.

5

Simply draw in the eyes, and then color in the eyes for the bird to the right. The left bird has cheeks arched so be sure to add these lines as well.

6

All you have to do here is draw out the expanded wings for the left bird like so, and then draw out the birds body which has it's wing folded in. Draw the chest and belly and move to the last step.

7

Draw the thighs and the rest of the body like so, and then draw out the three toed talons. The right bird needs to have the body completely drawn in before you draw out the feet.

8

Draw the tail feather for both birds, and then you can start cleaning up your work by erasing the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

9

When you are all done you have a finsihed drawing like the one you see here. Now you can enjoy yourself as you color in your birds.

Description: So I know I have a bird for kids, but since birds can be tough to draw I thought making another tutorial on these flying animals would benefit younger and beginning artists. Up next is a lesson that is going to show you "how to draw birds for kids", step by step. Since I already said all I need to say about a bird for kids, I’ll just briefly let you know some of the complex aspects to making a bird look like a bird. The first tricky thing is getting the heads drawn right as well as the body poses. In this tutorial I will give you some examples on how to get the heads, body, and even wings drawn in right. You will also be getting a lesson on two bird poses not just one. The first is a bird already in flight, and the second is a bird standing still from a side profile. You can choose to draw both of the poses, or you can also choose to go with one. No matter what type you choose, the most important thing is that you actually get to learn something new when it comes to drawing birds for kids. I think you will have fun with this tutorial because the bird in flight can also be drawn to look like a phoenix if you tweak it a bit. I will be back shortly with more drawing fun so stay tuned in folks, and don’t forget to fav, comment, and rate.
