How to Draw a Phoenix for Kids

1

Begin drawing out a circle for the head and then draw out the lower half of the body which is also round. Add the guides fr the face, and then the legs.

2

The next thing you are going to do is draw out the beak which should be shaped like a claw, and stubby too. Draw out the thick bold lining for the eye, and then add some lashes.

3

You will now start sketching out the forehead of the phoenix, and you have to also draw out the crested swoop of feathers which is for the shape of the entire head. Sketch in some tips in the back, and then draw long feathery brows above the eye as w

4

Draw the right side of the neck in one stroke, and then draw out the rounded chest and stomach. You will also draw out the small the thighs before leaving this step.

5

It's now time to sketch out the wings in a expanded pose. The edges of the wings should have separate feather tips like you see here and be sure to start long, and shorten them out on the way down.

6

You are almost done folks, all you have to do is draw out the legs, and then draw the three toes. If you look at the right foot or talon, you will see that it is clustered. Draw the tail and move along people!

7

Draw the claws on each foot or talon, and then you can erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Here is what your phoenix for kids looks like when you are all done. Color the bird in and you are ready to tackle something new.

Description: Hello everyone in Dragoart land, it is I, Dawn your trusted friend and fellow artist. Today we are going to be starting this hot and humid day by drawing some cool, fun, and exciting figures and characters from both fantasy, and reality. To start things off I will be showing you "how to draw a phoenix for kids", step by step. I figured that making this bird of lore would be cool because I now have a fantasy section in the ‘For Kids’ category. The phoenix is a bird that represents many things, but the more popular meaning is a symbolism for strength, determination, and most importantly new beginnings. I think everyone should have the opportunity to teach themselves "how to draw a phoenix" because they are birds that almost everyone loves. Even a U.S. state has a city named after this majestic bird. The lesson in itself is pretty simple, and if you always wanted to make a phoenix of your own but couldn’t because it is a challenging animal to draw, this should be an easy enough lesson for you to follow. I’m sure that you will enjoy this tutorial even if you’re not a kid. Remember, drawing is for everyone, so keep sketching your heart out until all your juices are done for the day. Thanks guys and have fun.
