How to Draw a Real Dragon

1

Start by making three shapes, one for the head, and two for the body. Once these shapes are drawn in, you need to connect them all with lines. There should be a total of two, the neck and tail.

2

All you have to do here is sketch out the beginning parts of the upper muzzle and jaw. The lining for the mouth should also be drawn in. Make the mouth wavy and then add the mountain for the nose.

3

Begin drawing out the lower jaw and notice how the cheek is defined, and there is slight chin hair. Make an eye shape, and then move along.

4

As you can see the difficulty level is going to be increased a little. You have to carefully sketch out the rest of the mouth and this should include the stretched tissue at the corners of the mouth. Sketch in the teeth and tongue, and then draw out

5

Begin sketching out the skin based tissue for the frills along the middle of the head, and on the sides of the jaw.

6

Continue to sketch out the dragon but first draw the shoulder for the wing, and then draw the top lining and thumb for the wing as well. You will then draw out the front legs and some of the right foot. Add some wrinkle or crease lines at the dented

7

Finish sketching out the wing like so, and then draw out the top part as it folds over the beginning part of the wing. Sketch out the back, back-end and some of the tail. Now draw in the back leg or thigh, as well as some of the foot. Sketch the bell

8

Finish drawing out the hind leg, and the ribs on the wings. Also, add the lines to separate the toes from the claws or nails. Finis drawing out the tail, and that's it you are almost done.

9

Lets finish off the real dragon drawing by adding those belly scales and then draw out the end tuft of the tail. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one, and you are all done.

Here is what your real style dragon looks like. Add some spots if you like, and choose a shade to color him in. Thanks for joining me with this tutorial guys!

Description: Okay guys, I’m back with another fun tutorial and this is the third dragon lesson that I will submit in total for the week so far. After this, it may be a while before I draw any more dragons to submit on the site, or I may just surprise you and draw another. My little sister really liked this drawing because she said it looked just like one of those characters from fantasy cartoons. The big full looking belly and round appearance makes this creature look sort of traditional. I’m going to show you "how to draw a real dragon", step by step and with this tutorial you will follow a simple lesson that will help make your drawing experience a whole lot easier. The best part about drawing real looking dragons is the shades you can color them in. I chose to make a blue colored version of this mythical beast, and I really think that blue was the right color for him. The style is very traditional, which means you will definitely find a use for this creature in one of your fantasy style sketches. I myself was inspired by the Disney style of dragon that they have their artists create. Anyways, I think I will end this description because I find myself at a loss for words since I have said all I can say when it comes to dragons. I mean, I did write descriptions for nearly one hundred dragon lessons. Well adios people, have fun with learning "how to draw a real dragon". Don’t forget a pencil, piece of paper, and eraser. Be sure to draw guidelines lightly, and take your time!
