How to Draw Cheshire Cat, American Mcgee
Ok guys, there's this new video game I seen advertised all over DeviantArt and YouTube. I can't explain how feaky the characters in American McGee's Alice in Wonderland look. They totally revamped the style of the Cheshire cat, probably the creepiest looking character in the game. Alice on the other hand, has a cool look as well. She bares a knife and her clothing is splattered of blood. I tell ya', I've got to get my hands on this game so I can experience the total awesomeness of revamped horror! Cheshire has stained yellow teeth with darkened – scary eyes, curled ears, and a body that reaks of rot. I find him to be very sneaky and horrid by his looks, but have never heard of his voice yet in the games. Lots of people have been requesting this thing and tell me that the new release of this game is out. So, without further ado, let's move onto the tutorial. Hopefully this tut will intrest those who have never heard of American McGee's version of Alice in Wonderland. Thanks so much for viewing and enjoy!

STEP 1.
Begin with drawing out an oval shape for the cat's head and then draw the neck line and attach it to another shape for the body. As you can see the body frame is squared at the top., but rounds out on the way down.
STEP 2.
Begin sketching out the actual shape of the Cheshire cat's head. As you can see it is sort of shaped like a beet or garlic bulb. Be sure to sketch out the brows, and hair strands from the bottom of the chin.
STEP 3.
Here you will focus on getting the eye shapes drawn, and then draw out his big huge grin. Sketch out the chin, and then draw out the detailing as well.
STEP 4.
Finish sketching out the eyes, and then draw in the cyan lines under the eyes, and color them in after that. Once you have finished with the eyes, you can begin working on getting the nose tip, whisker holes, and whiskers sketched out as well. Before you leave this step draw the gum line for his teeth that you will later draw in.
STEP 5.
Color in more tribal designs on the face near the eyes, forehead, cheeks, and chin. Take your time because you really want this face to come out just right. Once you feel that the tribal art is drawn in right, you can get those teeth drawn in as well. All of the teeth are aligned with one another.
STEP 6.
Okay, lets get the ears drawn out and this is another part of the Cheshire cat that you have to take your time with. The head of this character is the most detailed. Carefully sketch out the ears the way I drew them here. When that is done and you feel good about the work, color in some more tribal art, and then draw in a bog round hoop earring.
STEP 7.
As you can see the the body of the Cheshire cat is really all decrepit and skeletal like. Sketch out the bony neck, and then draw the emaciated body starting with the shoulders, and then draw out the chest and arms.
STEP 8.
You will be drawing out the rest of the cat's body by sketching out the right side of the stomach, and then get the thigh legs drawn in. Add some folds and wrinkles and then add some crease detailing.
STEP 9.
As you may already know this video game version of the Cheshire cat is supposed to look extremely skinny and unhealthy or dead. Here you will sketch in all the bone detailing and definition that will show the neck spine, and rib cage. Draw in the other bony front leg and then move to step ten.
STEP 10.
Sketch out the bony tail and be sure to sketch in the tuft at the tip.
STEP 11.
Draw in the markings on the shoulders, and then draw in the tribal band and marking on the upper arm. You will also draw the design on the wrist. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up the drawing.
STEP 12.
Here is what your drawing looks like when you are all done. Now you can color it in and be on your way to the next tutorial.Comments: Post Comment
