One of the main reasons why I’m uploading lessons on these My Little Pony stars is because they are becoming increasingly popular and requests for them have been filling my mailbox for about a week. Today I am going to show you guys "how to draw Rarity", step by step. Like most of the ponies that live in Ponyville, Rarity loves fashion and has many interests in other activities. Instead of being a straight up pony, she is also a unicorn. Her body is all white and she has a purple colored mane and tail. Rarity is one of the ponies that has the belief that there is absolutely no doubt that she is one hundred percent lady. Another trait that she has is being what we call a drama queen. Now she may walk with her head up high, and leave a trail of trouble on her path, but there is one pony that loves everything about her and he is Spike. Rarity doesn't know he exists which means Spike is left holding his heart in his hooves hoping she will one day take notice to his affection. STEP 1.
Make two shapes for this pony's body. Start with a circle for the head, and then an egg shape for the body. You will then draw an arched line for the tail and add one face guide.
STEP 2.
Now that the shapes are drawn in, you can begin sketching out the form of her face which is basically the left cheek, snout, and the eyes which are also part of the bridge of the unicorn's nose.
STEP 3.
Draw the pointed ears, and then add some minor detailing inside of the ear. You will then draw in a nose hole and a hint of a smile.
STEP 4.
Draw the stripes on the unicorn's horn, and then draw out the large eyes which are pointed at the base. Color in some pupils, and then long lush lashes.
STEP 5.
Draw the neck, and then draw out the back and the butts arch as well as the hind leg and stomach.
STEP 6.
Next, draw the other hind leg, and then draw the front one too. As you can see the legs are very simple to draw which means you should finish this lesson in less than ten minutes.
STEP 7.
You can now draw out the big, high arched tail and then get her mane drawn out as well. When this is done be sure that you have added a small curl.
STEP 8.
Draw the strand lines to both the tail, and mane like so, and when you do this it will add some texture as well. Since the next step is the last drawing step, you can start erasing the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 9.
For the last step, draw in the other front leg, and then draw three diamonds on her thigh like you see here. Since you already erased the guides you can pretty much just finish up the drawing with some final tweaks.
STEP 10.
Now you can color her in and add this drawing to your My Little Pony book. I hope you enjoyed this lesson on how to draw Rarity.1 Page Result
