Hey guys, Dawn here with another fun and helpful lesson! Today, we'll be learning “how to draw emo faces, step by step”. I had so much fun designing the concept of this girl, as I love to do monochromatic color schemes, especially dark art. Drawing an emo face, in a diverse style, should be easy, especially when you've gotten an understanding on designing them. Because this girl is in dark colors, doesn't mean she's a depressing person. The 'emo' style can be filled with a bright color scheme, bleached hair with a vivid variety of colors. Experiment, and observe your friends or on Google to create diverse emo characters. No, it isn't true that all emos cut their wrists, they're just like any normal teens, experimental and happy. Never judge a book by it's cover, you never know what you'll find through the pages. I hope you'll enjoy this tutorial, I've included tips and tricks with this lesson for ya'll. Thanks for viewing, and let me know how you did!

STEP 1.

When drawing emo faces, it's very important you have a diverse knowledge on the various hair types. This style doesn't consist of JUST a long fringe to the side. There's lots of other styles, like: (Top) Very teased hair at the sides, back, and front, turning normal once reached to the ends. (Left Side) Teased hair with raccoon tails *which vary in diverse types of neon colors* extensions. (Right Side) Short hair with scattered bangs and hair accessories, most common in the emo style. (Bottom) Short hair with double sided fringes. The hair spikes in the back, and streaks down normally at the sides. Experiment with different styles and see what you end with!

STEP 2.

This is an important part for drawing any type of face, especially emo styled ones. The further you draw the nose and lips from the eyes, the older and dark the character will appear. Notice how this female looks rather fixated on the viewer. Also, by drawing eyes larger, and having quite a distance from the nose - mouth from the eyes, the more fragile characters will appear. Mix and match!

STEP 4.

After you sketch out the shape structure of this emo face and the ear, and neck. Next, begin drawing out her hairstyle which is as you can see very puffy. The bangs are semi long, and they usually cover one side of the face. Draw out the back of the head, and then move to step four.

Now that the face, head, and hair is drawn, you can begin sketching out the other pieces of her style. This is the thick strands and sketch in detailing at the root of her head. You can also draw in a beret if you like.
