How to Draw the Grudge

I'm sure you guys know that I have a Youtube channel and because I have a Youtube channel I receive twice as many requests than I ever did before. Sometimes the requests I get from Dragoart and the ones I get from Youtube are the same which means the object, or character in question makes them a priority to do. Today I am going to fill one of those requests and teach you "how to draw the Grudge", step by step. The girl from the 2004 horror/thriller made an impacting impression on the minds of many movie goers that became fans of the insanely creepy American remake of a Japanese horror. The original name of the flick is “Ju-on: The Grudge”, and with the American version the same director that worked on Ju-on is also the guy that is responsible for the direction of The Grudge. There is a total of three movies, The Grudge 1, The Grudge 2, and the final episode, The Grudge 3. The movie is about a curse that takes the lives of any individual that comes in contact with a force that is only being recycled with each dying soul. The the girl's face that you will be drawing is Kayako Saeki. She is the girl that appears in all three films as the main antagonist. She is portrayed as a ghost that seeks out revenge, and she is described as having long, straight black hair that covers most of her face, and a pale complexion with darkened eyes. I had a blast making this tutorial on how to draw Kayako, or the Grudge girl. I know she will be favorited by many members of Dragoart and Youtube. Hopefully you have a blast with the lesson and be sure to take your time as to tackle this unsightly ghost. Until next time people, have an awesome drawing day!

how to draw the grudge step 1

STEP 1.

Begin by sketching out a circle for her head, and then draw in the facial guidelines.

STEP 2.

Start using the facial lines to sketch out the first lids of her eyes like you see here and the tip part of her nose.

STEP 3.

Finish sketching out her eyes and be sure to incorporate the actual lid in the eye design. Draw the pupils and then sketch the eyebrows out using a nice light stroke.

STEP 4.

Color in the pupils like you see here and begin sketching in the dark rings under her eyes by using a shading technique. When the eyes are done the way you see them in this step, you can sketch out the mouth and lips.

STEP 5.

It's time to add some detailing, definition, and texture to her bottom lip. All you have to do is sketch in the creased lines along the inner lining of her bottom lip like you see here. The root of the crease should be darker and then thin out.

STEP 6.

Okay, you are now ready to sketch out the shape of her face like you see here. Once that is done begin sketching out the part at the top of her head, and be sure to make the roots darker than anything else. Continue sketching out her hair as it covers the neck like you see below, and the shape of her face is actually her hair framing the face.

STEP 7.

this is basically the last drawing step. All you have to do now is sketch in the long, stringy bangs that cover her face but in a peek-a-boo manner. Once that is done you can begin erasing the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

STEP 8.

Color in all the white that surrounds her face like so, and you have just created a bed of dark hair.

STEP 9.

That's it, you are all done. No need to color her in because her face is already pale as it is and everything else should stay darkened. I hope you liked this drawing on the Grudge girl.
