This is just a diagram of how the human muscle looks under all the tissue and skin. As you can see muscles have tendons mixed with the muscle, and muscle mass is usually wrapped around the bone.

2

This is how an arm looks when all the muscles are in a relaxed state. Notice there is no tension in the tissue, and they appear to be a lot more visible.

3

There is three types of muscle you can draw on your character; muscular, toned, and average. As you can see the more pumped an arm gets, the more muscle it builds.

4

Lets start. Begin by drawing out the large bump to the right for the shoulder. Next, draw in the single guidelines for the flexed arm, and then a small odd egg shape for the fist.

5

Now you will begin sketching out the muscle starting at the top of the shoulder, and work your way to form the bicep. Add some definition to the shoulder like you see here.

6

Now continue to sketch out the muscle by drawing in the triceps and then draw in the flexed elbow, and forearm like you see here. Continue the lining to form the back of the hand in the form of a fist, and then move to step seven.

7

For your last step, all you have to do is draw in the hand or fist like so, and be sure to sketch in some muscle definition. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

8

Here is what the muscle looks like when you are all done. Now you can use what you learned to draw out your next male figure. Thanks for joining me with this lesson on how to draw a muscle.

Description: Another lesson day coming your way guys and to be completely honest with you, I think you will enjoy what I have in store. Today I am going to start by showing you "how to draw a muscle", step by step. Its always a good idea to school yourself on this type of drawing concept because when you draw male figures, you are almost always going to draw muscles as well. I do have a lesson on muscles and it came out pretty cool. But sometimes there is a need to just learn the basics and learn what muscles look like underneath all that skin and tissue. The lesson is very thorough and I think you will find that when it comes to making arms and arm muscles, there is a certain way to get it done. A muscular arm of the male body is probably one of the more defined parts of the torso. It has lots of contours, shapes, and detailing. Male arms is considered to be an attractive part of a mans body and this is why men take so much pride in getting their arms pumped up. For some woman, a man with muscular arms and tattoos, is all you need to have a connection with a guy. Anyways, this is a pretty basic tutorial, and I think you will find that it is going to be easy to teach yourself "how to draw a muscle". Remember, when you draw out your characters arms, be sure to include those details and definition that makes the arm so attractive. I will be back in a bit with more drawing fun! Peace peeps and enjoy the rest of your drawing day.
