How to Draw a Ghost, Step by Step, Ghosts, Monsters, FREE Online Drawing Tutorial, Added by Dawn, August 31, 2008, 3:33:55 am

In this first step what you will do is draw out the outlined body shape for the ghost. But first make a circle for the head with the facial guidelines drawn in. The shape in the upper left corner is one arm and the little nub to the lower right corner is another. You can be creative and shape out your ghost any way you want to.

STEP 2.

In this next step you will start the razor sketching to shape out his ghostly body. This technique will make your halloween ghost look more wispy and scary at the same time. After you shape out the body you can then draw out the mouth using a jagged stroke with your pencil or pen. Next draw out the shape of a hand on the right side as shown. The hand too will have that jagged look.

STEP 3.

What you will be doing in this last step is detailing the body at the tips of the ghosts body as shown. Then you will move over to your left and begin sketching out his hand there as well using the same technique throughout the drawing. After you are done with that you can add creepy looking eyes and add some detail to the inside of the mouth. You will then erase the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your sketch.

STEP 4.

When you are done your drawing should come out looking like the one you see above. That was pretty easy right? Well you can color him in or not its your choice. You could even just print out the finished step and color him in or print out the finished drawing at the top of the page. I will be back with more tutorials. Until then adios amigo.

Artist CommentsToday I have another tutorial on a character that is associated with Halloween. Since this awesome day is only like a month away, I wanted to draw some more cool characters that I think you will all enjoy. Today I will be showing you "how to draw a ghost". When drawing ghosts you can create any type of body you want to since they are suppose to be wisps of energy that float around. In my drawing I drew the ghost in a scary creepy way with an open mouth and a body that disintegrates in the air. I also added a castle in the background that is faded out really well. If you were to ask me if I believed in ghosts I would have to say that I am undecided about that. I mean it is hard to sit there and say that you believe in an entity that is watching you 24/7 and who knows if they want to haunt you or not. Although I did experience something weird before that made me from a nonbeliever to undecided. One day I was sitting in my room as usual working on my computer. The door was shut and no one was in there with me, it was just me and my music. While I was working, I felt a presence in the room with me which made me stop what I was doing and just look around for a sec to see if someone snuck in my room. After turning up no live bodies hiding in my room (like my brother or sister), I continued on with what I was doing. An hour probably passed when I felt a chilling breeze on the back of my neck, it almost felt like someone was blowing on my skin. I turned around and saw absolutely no one again. What really freaked me out is that when I opened my door and went down stairs, my whole family was watching a movie together. I knew at that moment I wasn’t alone in my room. The ghost I drew represents that same eerie feeling I felt in my room that day. I will show you how simple it is to "draw ghosts", step by step with easy to follow instructions. Now I say ghosts because you can draw as many ghostly characters as you want. I will be back with another tutorial for you all. In the mean time stick around and see what will be submitted next.
