How to Draw Anime Wings, Draw an Anime Angel
Drawing anime and manga figures is a concept that many artists on this site love doing. That is why I wanted to make another cool tutorial that is based on the very thing that some of us love to create, and that is anime wings. You will learn "how to draw anime wings", step by step and with this tutorial you will get some pretty cool helpful tip steps to make drawing anime wings a whole lot easier. The character or figure I made for this tutorial is an anime fallen angel, and I think he came out pretty darn good. This is one of my favorite drawings that I have made in a long time, and I can't wait to submit the video lesson for it. The way that the angel is in position makes him even more desirable to sketch out. The drawing took me two hours to complete and that's not including making the tutorial steps. I had a hard time choosing what type of background to draw with this character, so I went back to some old lessons on some of the angels I've drawn over time, and looked at some ideas. Eventually I came up with this background and I think it works well with the anime fallen angel. STEP 1.
Now, this is a very common type of wing seen in various types of animes. This is the traditional and simple angel wing (feathered wing) that varieties of characters obtain in tons of animes. Whether your character is an innocent angel girl or maybe an evil fallen angel, these wings can be drawn in many styles. Drawing sharp edged wings will portray a darker character rather than drawing soft and fluffed wings. 1) are the primaries. There are usually 5 - 6 feathers on large - soaring birds (eagles, hawks, vultures). These wings go perfectly for humanoid characters, specifically because they are designed for aiding larger birds in tactical flight. 2) are the secondaries that are much smaller compared to their cousin feathers. Most wings are detailed in 3 regions, which taper into large to small feathers.
STEP 2.
Here's a take on demon type wings that you can add to villainous characters. I find drawing bat type wings pretty cool for villains because of the bare flesh of the skin membrane and bony human type fingers. 1) Bat wings such as these, generally have 4 - 5 fingers. You can add as many as you like for a more unique creation. 2) Adding wrinkles to the wing finger joints, wing membrane base, and other areas that have stretched flesh, will create a more realistic appearance. 3) Adding rips and tears into the wings will make the character seem as if he's been through rough times. 4) Adding toned muscle to the base of the wing is essential because of the fact that it acts as a third arm attached in between the shoulder blades.
STEP 3.
Here are a variety types of wings I've drawn. I've seen these wing types in various animes before so I thought I'd share my knowledge. Mix and match wing types and styles to create a truly mind bottling and unique wing.
STEP 4.
Wings should connect to the base of the back, in between the shoulder blades. NEVER draw the wings below the shoulder or above the shoulder. This will make them look totally ridiculous and unbelievable. Think of them realistically and how they would work on humans or any other type of creature. Keep in mind that having a large person and small wings wouldn't be logically possible for the person to fly.
STEP 5.
The flow wings are established, can be hard to pinpoint, especially since it depends on the actions your character engages. Look at various types of bird/bat wings on the web and observe on how the bat is angling. To create diverse types of wings, you must observe and experiment.
STEP 6.
Start by drawing out the two shapes, one for the head, and one for the torso of the angel. Now draw the guidelines for the arms, and widespread wings.
STEP 7.
All you have to do here is begin sketching out the hairstyle which is kind of long but definitely straight.
STEP 8.
Okay, as you can see you will start sketching out his face and be sure to draw in the eyes which also has a tear running down his cheek, draw the nose and then the mouth.
STEP 9.
All you have to do here is draw out his shirt which also happens to be his upper body as well. Make sure that the shoulders are broad. The sleeves should be short too.
STEP 10.
Here you are going to sketch out the arms. They should be slender, but muscular at the same time. When this is done you can move to step eleven.
STEP 11.
Okay, finish drawing out the torso by sketching in the stomach and waist. Next, draw the legs and as you can see this angel is in a bent down position.
STEP 12.
You are almost done with this tutorial and if you ask me you are doing a great job. Sketch out the hands, and then draw out the shoes and or feet.
STEP 13.
Now you will add some detailing and definition to his pants like the stitch lines, and zipper. Draw the scratches on his upper arm, and then sketch in some of the body definition on the shoulders and arms. Also make sure to draw in his belt too.
STEP 14.
Now it's time to draw out the wings beginning with the top bone part. This is a very easy step, and when you are done all you have to do is move to step fifteen.
STEP 15.
Okay guys, you are now going to sketch out the feathers on the wings, and be sure to take your time so the feathers turn out excellent. The further down the wings you go, the smaller the feathers get.
STEP 16.
Lastly, sketch in the feather detailing and definition on the wings to finish off this tutorial on how to draw anime wings. Now that you are all done you can start erasing the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 17.
Here is what your angel and wings look like when you are all done. You can now start coloring in your drawing to really finish the art off. I had so much fun creating this tutorial on drawing anime wings and an anime angel.Comments: Post Comment
