How to Draw Amanda Seyfried, Red Riding Hood
I know I should have submitted this tutorial first before I uploaded the video version. I guess I was just too excited about this new movie that is coming out March 11th called 'Red Riding Hood'. This new horror film of 2011 was directed by the very same woman that directed Harry Potter and even the very first Twilight, Catherine Hardwicke. To my surprise Leonardo DiCaprio produced the film, and the screenplay was written by David Leslie Johnson who is the same writer of the very awesome thriller Orphan. Red Riding Hood is a Gothic adaptation of the age old folk tale Little Red Riding Hood. What I like about the movie from the previews is how it takes place in the medieval days in a village called Daggerhorn. The movie is basically about a young woman who falls in love with a man that is not the man that she is supposed to marry. She plans on running away with her true love until her sister is mysteriously killed by a werewolf creature that has been terrorizing the village of Daggerhorn for years now. To keep the beast at bay the villagers have been giving the werewolf animal sacrifices every month. No one knows who the werewolf might be but they do know that it can be anyone, even someone they love. Valerie who is played by Amanda Seyfried, has a close bond with a certain somebody that could be the culprit to the slaughtering that has been going on in the village. I absolutely think that the movie is going to be a great hit, and now that I know Catherine Hardwicke is directing the film, I will be sure to try and actually buy a ticket to go and see it in theaters. Have fun learning "how to draw Amanda Seyfried" guys, I had a lot of fun making this tutorial so I hope you have fun learning from it. STEP 1.
Draw the shape of her head, and then add the guidelines for the face and her cape.
STEP 2.
Begin sketching out the shape of Amanda's face like you see here, and since she is looking upwards you need to draw out the full length of the face like so. Also include the beginning parts of her hairline.
STEP 3.
Using the facial guidelines you drew in step one, begin sketching out her eyes which are very intense looking when they are done. This lining should be bold and they should also include some of the lashes. Lastly for this step, lightly sketch out her nose.
STEP 4.
Finish drawing out her big pretty eyes, and be sure to take your time when you do so. Amanda Seyfried's eyes actually dominates her whole face, so when you sketch them out it needs to be done with care. Next, add some bottom lashes, and then draw in some more of the definition to the nose. You can now start the drawing process of her mouth by sketching in the top line of her lip.
STEP 5.
Okay, as you can see when you are done with this step, she will actually start looking like Amanda. Sketch in her eyebrows, and then finish sketching out the mouth which is slightly open. Because the mouth is open just a tad, you will need to shade inside of that area.
STEP 6.
Now it's time to start sketching out her hood and and then her long thick locks that lays under the hood. Once you have sketched out the hood and hair, you will need to sketch in the hair detailing and definition to add texture and body. Take your time, there is no rush.
STEP 7.
Sketch out more of her cloaked hood like so, and then some of the cloak where her arm is on the right. As you can see the cloak starts fading out in the background as it turns into blood in later steps.
STEP 8.
Continue to sketch out the cloak, and then draw in her arms which is also covered by her shirt sleeves. Add some crinkle or crease lines between the dent on her arms, and then continue to draw the hood until you have a drawing that looks like the one you see here.
STEP 9.
Sketch out her necklace, and then her V lined shirt collar. You will also need to sketch out the tie that is holding her hood in place. Take your time, and move to the next step.
STEP 10.
Sketch out her collar that is not a messed overlay, and then draw in the rest of the tie which is in a knot. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up this awesome drawing, and then you are all done.
STEP 11.
Here is what she looks like when you are all done. Now all you have to do is color her in, and wait until March 11th to go see Red Riding Hood. I hope you liked this tutorial on how to draw Amanda Seyfried.Comments: Post Comment
