Start by drawing the base or body of the hand drum like you see here. This is a very simple process as you can see.

2

Now you will draw out the tops of the drums which is usually made from some sort of animal hyde. The bottom lining of the drum skins should be ruffled like you see here.

3

To complete the drums off, here you will draw out the bottoms which is very easy because it's like drawing cups.

4

For the last drawing step, all you need to do is draw out the tied strings around the body of the drums which holds the skins on, and then add some detailing to the tops and side of the drums too. If you have any visible guidelines present go ahead a

Here is what your drawing should look like when you are all done. Now you can go ahead and color them in, and use what you have drawn in your next picture. Thanks for joining me with this lesson on how to draw a drum.

Description: Another fun drawing lesson coming your way and this time it's going to be on a pair of hand drums. I do have a tutorial on a full set of drums that are commonly used in rock and roll bands and such. Like always I was asked if I could make a lesson on "how to draw a drum", step by step but the drum requested was not your typical stick playing set. Instead a very simple style of hand drums was requested. This is not the first time these types of drums where requested. In the past someone asked me if I could do a lesson on a hand drum because they wanted to make a nice background for their favorite Nintendo game character "Donkey Kong". Now I want to apologize for taking so long to fill the request when it was asked of me more than a year ago. Back then I was extremely busy getting the site optimized for better surfing, and member interactivity. There is many different types of hand drums because there are many different cultures that use this type of instrument for musical and religious purposes. For example; in Africa they use a drum called the 'djembe', and with the Latin race, they use hand drums like congas and bongos. Anyways, I guess that is all I have to say about these drums, and I know you will have fun teaching yourself "how to draw a drum", step by step. I will be back but unfortunately when I return, it will be my last lesson for the day. Adios people, and have an awesome drawing day!
