How to Draw Milo, Mars Needs Moms

1

Milo should be an easy character to draw because you will just be sketching out the top part of his body which is his face, and half of his torso. Start by making a circle for the head, and then add the facial, neck, and shoulder guidelines.

2

This is where you will start sketching out the shape of Milo's face and neck. Be sure to also draw out the outlining of his ears too. Sketch in the cheek and chin, and then move to step three.

3

Now using the guidelines you drew in step one, begin sketching out the eye shapes, and then his nose. Remember his look is going to be very expressive so you have to make sure you get this step right.

4

Now that the eyes are drawn out, you can now add the actual eyeballs. Next, sketch out the eyebrows, mouth, lips, and then the inner ear detailing.

5

Here comes the part where you have to sketch in some of the facial detailing. Start with the forehead wrinkles, and then move onto the eyes. You need to sketch out the lashes, and color in his pupils. Next, add some minor definition around the eyes,

6

This is a very easy step to conquer and complete. All you need to do is sketch out the messy looking style of his hair. There should be waves, gaps, and dips to the outer lining. Sketch in some detailing to the hair for texture definition.

7

All you have to do here is draw out the neck, and then draw a V line for his sweater collar. He is wearing a hoodie or a hooded sweater, and the short that is wrapped around the neck is his undershirt.

8

Continue to sketch out his sweater like you see here and don't forget to draw the holes for the hood strings. You also have to sketch in the lining to form an arm to the left, and then be sure the outer lining for the sweater is a bit wavy.

9

All you have to do in your last drawing step is color the inside of his mouth and leave behind some solid pieces for his front teeth. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your drawing.

10

Here is what Milo looks like when you are all done. Now you can go ahead and color him in to finish him off. I hope yo had fun with this tutorial on how to draw Milo from Mars Needs Moms.

Description: The next two lessons I am going to submit is from a brand new computer generated movie from Disney. The idea to make tutorials out of some of the characters you are about to see, came to me when I was watching TV a few days ago and a commercial came on which was a preview for a movie called “Mars Needs Moms”. I have to say, even though the characters where made the same way like the figures from Polar Express was made, the movie does look good, and even funny. Unfortunately, there is no information about the two characters that I am about to submit and it’s mainly due to the fact that the release date for Mars Needs Moms is March 11th. Nonetheless, I will still do my best in describing each character starting with Milo. Milo is your typical nine year old boy that has to do everything and anything that his mom says. The only problem is Milo doesn’t want to do what his mom wants him to do like eat his vegetables, take out the garbage, clean his room, and take a bath. Like most boys Milo’s age they feel like they can be one hundred percent independent without their moms. But for young Milo, he finds out how much his mom means to him when she is kidnapped by an alien race. The Martians take his mother to their planet where they want her to instill the same mommy role on their young alien children. Milo has to find a way to rescue his mother as he is accompanied by Gribble, and a Martian named Ki. Together they will rescue Milo’s mom and return home. This tutorial is going to show you "how to draw Milo from Mars Needs Moms", step by step. I kind of messed up with his left eyebrow, but I will fix that on a later date. Have fun guys, and be sure to keep your eyes out for more upcoming fun. Peace out people!
