I was asked to do a tutorial on a character that is extremely popular in Japan, and it can actually be compared to Hello Kitty here in the states. Even though this figure is not from any type of movie creation, it is a character that has merchandise made in its image. Today, I will be showing you all "how to draw Tarepanda", step by step. Tarepanda is known in Japan as the lazy panda bear that gets around by rolling all the time. It does this because it is so incredibly lazy, and instead of getting up to walk around on its four legs and feet, it would rather just chill out and roll from here to there. Tarepanda has a traveling speed of only about two miles an hour, and its appearance is very droopy, tired looking, and just plain old pillowy. In theory the creators of Tarepanda wanted to make sure that the design of this panda looked very soft to the touch. If you think about it, it sort of reminds me of a Pillow Pet.
