How to Draw Chibi Cloud
I have this big Chibi fixation and I just can’t seem to take myself out of it. The reason why I say this is because what I have for you all today is yet another Chibi tutorial. I’m finding the more I draw the better I get at it (which is good). So for today’s tutorial I will be showing you "how to draw Chibi Cloud" from Final Fantasy. I figured “hey, why not. I already did Sephiroth.” What I am really excited about is how good he came out. I mean, I think I did a wicked awesome job when I drew Cloud. Since he came out so well I now have four favorite Chibi’s; Han Solo, Nacho Libre, L, and now Cloud. As many of you know Cloud Strife is the main character in the Final Fantasy VII game. The game series began in 1987 solely for console gaming systems only. As time pasted and technology got more and more advanced, the Final Fantasy saga can now be found for not only home based console systems, but also for portable hand held units as well including cell phones. What started as a simple video game in the 80’s is now well known and highly sought after. Clouds appearance is very simple believe it or not. He has spiky blonde hair, bright blue eyes, he wears dark cloths, and he carries his Buster Sword, which belonged to one of his friends. Cloud also appears in another Role Playing Game called Kingdom Hearts, which also happens to be a popular game. I always liked Clouds character. I think he is one of the coolest out of the Final Fantasy VII bunch. I will show you in detail how to draw Chibi Cloud step by step. Drawing Final Fantasy characters can sometimes get a little difficult because they have so much detail to them. But all in all if you take your time you can do it with ease. I hope you like this tutorial; it took me about three hours to draw and color him in, and then another 45 minutes to make the tutorial steps. I will be back later with more for you all to learn from. STEP 1.
Okay lets start this first step with the basic guidelines and shapes for the head and body. Start with a circle for the head with the added facial guidelines. Next draw out the rectangle shape for his torso or body. You will then draw a much smaller circle for his hand and left foot. After that is complete you can add the guidelines for the arms, legs, hair, coat and sword.
STEP 2.
In this step you will begin making the lining for Chibi Cloud's hair. Like I said before in the description, Cloud has long spiky hair so keep that in mind when working on his head. After that you will make the outlines for his big blue eyes and then the lines for his nose and mouth. When you are done with that your next step is to shape out his face by drawing his lower jaw and chin. Then sketch out the lines to create a nicely shaped shirt and pants but make sure when drawing the pants you make them wrinkled. Now you can work on his right hand. Draw a smaller circle for his pointer finger then draw a deformed square shape for the fingers that are clinched in like a half fist. You will add the minor detailing lines for his sleeve and start the detailing on is coat.
STEP 3.
Now in this next step you will begin drawing out his spiky hair in the back of his head and then complete the lines for his eyes. You will next draw the straps that go across his chest and detail his hand by adding definition lines for the fingers and thumb. Give him a cute little belt and detail his sleeve, pants and shoes.
STEP 4.
This is the last drawing step and you will first erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one. After you do that you can finally finish off Chibi Clouds hair and draw in some eyebrows and pupils. Next draw the hint of the butt of his sword and detail the blade behind him. Minor definition lines are added to his shirt, belt, coat, and pants before leaving.
STEP 5.
All you have to do is color in the pupils and you just learned how to draw Final Fantasy character Cloud in Chibi form. That was pretty simple right? Now all you have to do is color him in and don't be sloppy. Look how cute he is just standing there pointing his finger at you. Awe cute. The one I did on paper was a lot better though, I know I need more pratice with the tablet and once I get good enough with it I'll make tutorials for the five pokemon chibis I made
