I know I haven’t drawn too many, well no characters or heroes from The Fantastic Four. I don’t know why I never did, I guess I never thought about it until now. The only reason why I am submitting this lesson on a Fantastic Four character, is because it was requested, and has been a requested hero for a long while now. Today I will finally submit my first tutorial on a character from The Fantastic Four. You will learn "how to draw the Human Torch", step by step. His real name is Jonny Storm and he was created by both Stan Lee, and artist Jack Kirby. Johnny Storm was raised by his sister Susan Storm who in later tales becomes Invisible Woman. They had to raise each other in a sense because they were really close in age and both of them had to lean on one another. The reason why two young children had to be put through this trauma is because when Storm was just a young boy he lost his mother in a car accident that left the family devastated. With no way or hopes to return to a normal family, Johnny’s father Franklin Storm became a bad alcoholic. His dad eventually killed a loan shark and was put in prison leaving the two kids without a father as well. Now the way Johnny became Human Torch is pretty interesting. You see, when Johnny was just sixteen years old he went on a space flight with his sister Sue’s fiancé, Reed Richards. While up in space he was drenched with radiation, but when the space craft crash landed on earth he turned into a flaming being. Since then he has called himself Human Torch. After some time he joined the Fantastic Four which included his sister Sue, brother –in-law Reed, and Ben Grimm or otherwise known as Thing. Together they were the superheroes and they did everything to keep evil and crime at bay. This drawing was fun creating because since Human Torch is all flames and because I love art that have flames, making a lesson to teach others "how to draw Human Torch" was fun. Well guys I’m sorry to say but that just about does it for me, and for this tutorial description. I will be back tomorrow with more drawing fun so come back to see what a new day will bring. I bid thee all farewell.

How to Draw the Human Torch

how to draw the human torch step 1

STEP 1.

Begin with a few shapes and lines to make a frame that you can work with. Start with a small circle for the head, and then draw the larger circle for the body or torso. When that is done you can add the lines for the arm and one leg. Next, draw the oval shapes for the hands, and then the odd looking rock shape for the foot.

STEP 2.

Here you will begin sketching the shape of the face, and then the flames for the top of the head. Now sketch out the muscular arms, and shoulders like so.

STEP 3.

Sketch out or draw in the hands or fists and be sure to add a little flame to the fingers like you see here. Once that is done draw out the lining for the torso like so, and then move to step four.

STEP 4.

You are already almost done with this tutorial. All you need to do now is draw in the lining that will later make up the eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth. Next draw a circle on the chest that will house the number 4, and then draw out his thumbs along with some more flames on the back of his right hand. Continue to draw out the shape of his body and be sure to draw in some flames too.

STEP 5.

Now add all the body detailing which makes up the muscle definition, and detailing. Finish drawing out the eyes, and then draw in the mouth completely. You will then erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

STEP 6.

Here is what Johnny Storm looks like when you are all done. Now you can go ahead and color him in. I hope you liked this tutorial, I know I did. Great work to all that tried out this lesson.
