How to Draw Cupcakes
I have a cute and quick lesson on a certain piece of food that you may love as I do. Drawing edible objects can be a really fun experience because you have the choice to make your food realistic, cartoon-ish, or as I like to draw it, chibi-ish. Today I will fill a request and show you guys "how to draw cupcakes", step by step. Drawing sweet treats or deserts is always fun because I can make them look good to eat, and fun to stare at. Anyways, this is going to be a fun lesson and I know a lot of kids here on Dragoart love drawing chibi style food. Instead of naming this tutorial chibi cupcakes, I just went ahead and called it "how to draw cupcakes". If there is a food or chibi character you would like to see as a lesson, please don't hesitate to ask me to upload something you want as a tutorial. I will be back with a gobble gobbler so you can have something else fun to draw especially for the holidays. Peace out people, and try not to eat your paper when you are all done with the cupcakes.

STEP 1.
Start with an egg shape for the base of the first cupcake. Then draw a straight vertical line down the middle like so. You will also need to add a small horizontal like right under the cupcake shape.
STEP 2.
Now draw the puffy top to the cupcake which is also the frosting. When that is done draw the base of the cupcake which is easy as 1, 2, 3.
STEP 3.
Add the lines for the paper holders that cupcakes and muffins sit in, and then draw a small circle for the cherry. Add the closed eyes and a mouth. Next draw the other cupcake off to the right hand side and when that is done make the creamed looking top with a swirl tip.
STEP 4.
Now add the step to the cherry, and some minor definition. Lastly, draw in the striped lines for the paper holder on the other cupcake and notice that the lines are close together instead of spread apart. Color in some beady looking eyes, and then some jimmies on the top. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one so these cupcakes look edible.
STEP 5.
Here is the end result once you are all done drawing cupcakes. Now you can go ahead and color them in. I hope you had fun with this tutorial as I did making it. Great work guys!Post a comment
