How to Draw Diego
Here is one of my favorite Skelanimals of all time. His name is Diego the bat, and he is THE cutest bat I have ever seen. Diego is like his peers because he too has a favorite movie and that is called “Birds”. Whether or not it’s the same flick from the Alfred Hitchcock collection is beyond me. Like all bat species, Diego takes refuge in dark spaces and if you own him he will most likely pull up a corner in the darkest area in your closet. Now just because he sleeps during the day, that doesn’t mean he is completely useless as a friend or companion. The great thing about Diego is the fact that he is an excellent watch bat. While you sleep snug in your bed, he hangs upside down to watch over you to make sure that there is no bugs crawling on you body or in your hair. As cute as he is, he too has a story as to how he became a Skelanimal like his buddies, and that story goes like this “Diego would glide and fly through the night, his sense of vision was perfect and bright. He would wake the birds as they tried to sleep, screeching and flapping with screams so deep. Tired they were, these birds so weary. Each day became longer and uncomfortably dreary. A lesson had to be taught to this bat of the dark. ‘Let us sleep near the wire fence!’ squeaked the small, quiet lark. Diego flew screeching, and speeding passed the fence, and through the rows of barbed wire so many and dense. He weaved and dodged through the spiral blades, and turned into chunks of hues and shades”. Well, I guess that’s it. It’s now time to teach yourself "how to draw Diego" too so you can enjoy the fun as you sketch out one of the most adorable Skelanimal figures around. Peace peeps!

STEP 1.
Draw a large circle for the head, and then add the shape of the body too. You will then add some facial guidelines so you will be able to draw in Diego's face better.
STEP 2.
Now you will draw out the exact outline of Diego's body like you see here. This includes the ears, legs, and bat wings.
STEP 3.
Sketch out the head skeleton of Diego like you see here, and then add two points for the fangs. Draw in the heart like so, and then move to your last drawing step.
STEP 4.
Draw out the round eyes, nose, and then the skeletal toes. Erase the lines and shapes that you guys drew in step one to clean up your drawing.
STEP 5.
Here is what your drawing looks like when you are all done. Now he is ready to color in using a black and red crayon. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial on how to draw Diego.Comments: Post Comment
