Start by making a hugs uneven shape for the gigantic boulder you will be drawing. Next, draw the horizontal line for the ground.

The first thing you will do in creating a nice background image, is start making the arched lines for the definition and texture of the boulder. As you can see it sort of looks like a mini mountain. Once that is done draw out the beginning parts of t

Okay, continue to draw out the texture of the boulder, and then add some detailing or definition lines. Next, draw yet another tree like you see here, and then start drawing out some big leaf foliage.

It's now time to start sketching out the tops for the trees in your drawing like you see here. Add some detailing or definition to the tree tops for added texture so you actually know that it is in fact a tree. Finish drawing out the large leaves for

Now it's time to finish off your background like you see here. To start, sketch in the trunk which is the bark or surface of the tree. When that is done you can add the vein lines for the leaves, and then draw in some grass, and even some foothills i

Description: There is many things one can draw, but one of the biggest parts of a drawing that almost all artists do is draw a background for their sketches, and or drawings. Today, I thought I would show you guys "how to draw a background", step by step. Now the concept I chose is nothing more than a few trees, rocks, and even a sky. This would make a great background for all sorts of animal drawings like birds, tigers, bears, and even some aquatic animals that spend their time both inside of the water and out. One of the things I like most about making a background image is keeping it simple, but also keeping it very colorful as well. Another important part to creating an awesome background is making sure that all the colors you use in your image, match or correspond with those in the main picture. If you notice almost all of the drawings I do on Dragoart have nice complimentary backgrounds to go along with the main image. For instance, if your character is wearing clothing that is all black, a nice orange, yellow, or red color would be a great shade to base your background drawing on. If you have a doubt on what to do for your drawings, all you have to keep in mind is just because it’s a background, that doesn't mean the shades have to match because they really do. I think you get the point by now and if you don’t just ask me when I’m live and I will answer any questions you may have. Gotta go for now, but I shall return. Adios amigos, and enjoy your drawing day. Peace!
