Now I start every first step with basic guidelines and shapes to form a solid frame for anything I show you how to draw. The first thing we will do here is draw out the shape of his head which looks like a basketball and draw in his facial guidelines includi9ng the lining for his bandanna or eye mask. Next what you will do is draw the heart shaped torso and then draw the muscle circle shapes for his arms and hands on both sides as you can see here. After you have finished with that you can then draw out the shapes of his thighs and calves along with his feet.

Step 2.

Now here you will start sketching out the facial features for Michelangelo. Start withe the sketching of his bandanna and work your way around his face to the front and draw the outlining for the eyes which is covered by the bandanna. Now draw out the shape of his snarling mouth along with the shape of his nose. Detail the front of his shell as you see and the left shoulder muscle. Now detail his muscular legs as well along with his feet.

Step 3.

Now lest start this step by first drawing the hands both right and left. This is very easy because they are both in a ball or fist position and they only have two fingers and a thumb as you can see. Next draw out the nunchucks. After you are done with this task you can the draw the chest line which is a nice wavy curve and then begin sketching the belt around his waist and his knee guards which are very square and bold. after you do that you can detail his legs a bit more by adding some more muscles and then define his feet by sketching in the lines to make toes. Two to be exact.

Step 4.

ALl you will have to do here is detail his strong looking muscular arms. But before you do that you have to erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your drawing. After you do that you can touch up missing pencil spots and such. Move to the next step when you are completely done.

Step 5.

This is what your finished cleaned up drawing of your TMNT should look like when you are finished. All you have to do now is color him in. That is it I hope you had fun learning how to draw Michelangelo step by step from TMNT.

Artist CommentsThis is another tutorial on how to draw one of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Today you will be learning how to draw Michelangelo. Michelangelo is the one that wears the orange eye mask and he uses a set of nunchucks as his primary weapon. Some of you may not remember but, when the first animated series came out, all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wore red bandannas or eye masks. This particular hero is often called Mikey by his other brothers and is only really called Michelangelo by his master Splinter. This spunky turtle was named after Michelangelo Buonarroti, the Renaissance artist who painted the famous Sistine Chapel. He is the turtle of the four that has an extremely laid back personality, has a huge kind heart, loves playing around acting goofy, and he absolutely loves eating pizza from the local pizzeria. Michelangelo has a party dude personality. You could say that if a party was going on he would most likely be the main attraction. One of his favorite hobbies is to skate board around the sewers a lot as you may or may not remember from all the movies. He also enjoys watching television while his other brothers are stressing over everything and anything.  He is also the baby of the family meaning he is the youngest out of the foursome bunch, so naturally he receives most of the “brotherly protection” from his siblings to keep him safe from dangerous encounters on the outside when they venture out do fight the evil Shredder and his gang. Mikey is definitely the one to turn to if you are feeling blue. He is what you say the “comic relief” for the gang. Despite his goofball attitude and his laid back domineer; Mikey is a very skilled fighter. His battling skills are based on Ninjutsu based fighting. He also has Olympic level agility, speed, and strength. He is a master of stealth, kobudo, and twin offensive Nunchaku.  I personally like Michelangelo’s character and he is one of my favorites. You will learn how to draw Michelangelo step by step with detailed instructions. I hope you enjoy yourself and I also hope that you all will learn something new today.
