How to Draw a Vampire
Well guys, Halloween is almost here which means I am going to be uploading some cool stuff that will be geared towards this awesome holiday. To start, I will show you "how to draw a vampire", step by step, and believe me, you will fall in love with this tutorial for sure. There is so many cool tips that will really help you when you want to draw vampires to your liking. I explain how male and female vampires have different shaped mouths and eyes, and how the shapes of their eyes are also different for each gender. Now, I could have left a clean neck on this simple vampire drawing, but I thought it would be more fun to add the bite marks. If you look at some of my other vampire drawings, you will notice how I always either drew them in an anime-ish style, or antique looking style. This time I felt that making a vampire in a regular human form would be best. The great thing about this concept, is the overall design of her style. If you are planing on dressing up as a vampire for Halloween, and you are a girl, her character design would make a great look on a regular person like me or you. All you have to do to achieve this look for yourself is buy a purple and pink colored wig, or two cans of hair spray paint, buy a make-up kit that includes purple and pink tones, and some really good vampire teeth. I wouldn't bother painting your face a pale white because that is just a typical way to make someone look like a vampire. Instead, lightly paint up your face a very light pink tone, and then the eyes would have a darker pink, with the lips being either dark pink or red. The purple and pink hair will contrast nicely on one another. Anyways, you should have some awesome fun when you "draw a vampire" because this character is truly cool. STEP 1.
Here's a different variety of the mouths you can draw for your vampire. A seductive and simple vampire would have oversized lips with large fangs. I know the mouth at the upper right has a strange looking tongue, which can be good too! Drawing a vamp mouth from the side view can be a bit tricky as well. I show you a few ways to draw it from the side a few tips down.
STEP 2.
This is another example I drew. You should see a hint of a second fang on a slight three fourth view. It has to be shorter, and diagonal from the foreground tooth. You should also see a notch that starts another shorter row of teeth that continues to the back of the mouth. As for the lower row of teeth, you should also make sure that the lip is under the teeth.
STEP 3.
This is a simple sketch on how the lips or mouths of a male and female vampire should look. Notice how the female mouth has much more fuller lips then the male, and also notice how the fangs are wider. A male mouth has a slight indication of top lip. You can add a "cupid's bow" for the inner lip to make a bit more simplified. Male teeth are also a bit shorter then a female's. Whatever floats your boat, you can possibly add large walrus fangs, haha. It shall then be addressed by it's proper name of "le vamp-walrus".
STEP 4.
You're probably thinking to yourself, "why does the male vampire eye look so feminine?" Generally, male vampires contain a slight femininity about them in the media today. They are "dead" so they should be given dark rings surrounding their eyes. Note that vampires have clammy cold skin. To make it seem more masculine, add very thick eyebrows to compliment the face. Adding a few subtle eyelashes will compliment a male face as well. Female eyes on the other hand, have very thick lashes and features to "seduce" their prey. They have large eyelids and thinned balanced eyebrows.
STEP 5.
Now let's start drawing this awesome vampire. First make a circle for the head, and then add the facial guidelines. By drawing the facial guidelines, you'll be able to draw this accurately.
STEP 6.
Sketch out the shape of her face like you see here, and then begin drawing out her pretty vampire eyes. Notice how female vampire eyes have thick, bold lid and lashes.
STEP 7.
Finish drawing out her eyes like you see here by giving her some eyeballs and pupils. Sketch in some lashes, and then sketch out her nose, and mouth or top lip. You will then detail the eyes, and nose like so.
STEP 8.
Now you can sketch out the outline of her hairstyle, and then draw in her nicely shaped eyebrows too. Draw the bottom lip and her two vampire fangs like so.
STEP 9.
The last thing you want to do is draw her neck, and the bite holes. Erase the lines and shapes you drew in step one to clean up your drawing.
STEP 10.
When you are all done, this is how your drawing should come out looking like. Now you can choose a nice color pallet to shade in your newly drawn vampire.Post a comment

ion! To enter you need to draw a Anime/ Manga/ Chibi character. It can be an old artwork or a new artwork. Dosen't matter. There are some rules: 1. ONE artwork per person 2. You must leave me a coment in reply to this message, in that message you will need to put a copy of the web adress of that artwork. 3. You're artwork has to be uploaded onto dragoart! 4. You have until the 7th Febuary to enter and the winners will be announced around the 13th-14th. The winners will have their avatars drawn in a picture toghether when I annnounce the winners.
