Start by drawing a circle for the head, and then add the guidelines for the nose or muzzle of the wolf like so.

2

Now you will start sketching out the first tribal shape of the wolf's forehead, and the side of the face like so.

3

Continue to draw out the shape of the wolf's face by making the necessary lines to form the nose, mouth, and lower jaw like so. As you can see the lower jaw is actually part of the neck too. These lines will also be drawn in a tribal pattern so take

Here you will basically finish drawing the wolf head by making sharp or pointed shapes that will form into the rest of the head. Add some dots for the whisker holes, and then move to step five.

5

Now it's time to add the color. But before you do this, you must first erase the lines and shapes you drew in step one. Once this is complete, you can join me on step six to see how your drawing should come out looking.

In the end, your wolf head should look just like the one you see here. I hope you had fun, and remember to tweak your sketch as much as you want.

Description: This is my interpretation of a wolf head, and for so long members have been asking me to make such a tutorial but I have never been able to get around to it. Instead of drawing a regular version of a wolf’s head, I decided to draw a tribal version of the head of a wolf. I think this recent version of a wolf came out looking so incredibly awesome. Sketching out a wolf’s head really isn’t too hard to do because most of the time, these types of drawings are showing the wolf from the side howling at the moon, on a 3/4 angle, or face forward with just a serious stare. Now because I know there is a lot of novice artists here on Dragoart, I wanted to make sure that the lesson would be easy enough for everybody to tackle. This means even though you will "draw a wolf head" in tribal form, you can still choose to take a more solid route just by coloring in the wolf’s head instead of actually making the tribal lines you see here. All you really need to do to get you started when it comes to drawing a wolves head, is getting the outline of the head drawn out properly. So let me shut up so you can try out this tutorial. If you want to do like I explained earlier when I suggested you color in the drawing, you can go ahead and do so. No matter what you choose to do, it should all be fine. Join me for another fun lesson coming up in a bit. Peace to all you inspiring artists out there.
