Eminem started off as a poor kid from Detroit. He was born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17, 1972. He was brought up by his mother Deborah after his father walked out on the two of them leaving them to fend for themselves. The two of them moved around like a bunch of gypsies through the suburbs of Detroit Michigan. When Marshall was in his teen years, he began his love for rap and hip-hop. Growing up he listened to rap and hip hop bands like Run DMC. He began his amateur rapping debut under the name M&M and then joined the group Soul Intent in 1995. As you know from his movie 8 mile, he often held freestyle battles with random opponents until a winner is appointed. He performed in front of audiences that were usually held in underground battle clubs. His first album called Infinite released in 1996 followed by the release of The Slim Shaddy EP in 1998 and then Dr. Dre signed Eminem and release The Slim Shady LP in 1999. The album later hit No.2 on the Billboard charts within weeks not months. The Marshall Mathers LP was released in May 2000. Eventually he reached ultimate fame where he finally gained the respect he deserved no matter what color he is.
