How to Draw Fang
There is a character that has been requested time, after time, and after so many months, I have finally filled the age old request. Have any of you heard of a novel called “Maximum Ride” written by James Patterson? Well, assuming that many of you have heard of this novel, I will be uploading my own creation of a character that is considered to be one of the more popular in the book series. Today, I will be showing you guys, "how to draw Fang", step by step. There is three main characters, and their names are Max, Fang, and Iggy. I plan on doing lessons on all three because I know that they will be well liked. Anyway, let's talk about Fang shall we? For starters the version I drew is in manga form just to let you know. Now, I know I told you guys that Fang was a seventeen year old boy, and that was totally wrong. The fact is, he is only fourteen, and he is Max's best friend. This explains why he is sometimes seen on the cover of the books, as well with fan art standing next to Max. Fang has the ability to disappear, but in order to do so, he needs to stay in a perfectly still stance. I tried drawing Fang to the best of my ability, and I tried to go by the character description as talked about in many blogs and fan sites since I have not read the book yet. He is described as being a tall lad, with dark hair, and dark eyes. He also has long, shaggy hair that looks like it hasn't been brushed in a while. To go along with his dark looks, he also wears dark clothing, and has a pair of dark colored wings. But as I read on about this unique character, I found myself asking a question, what the heck is Fang anyway, is he an angel or some other type of being? I found out that Fang is part of a six fugitive group called the Flock. He is a scientific creation experiment that is made up of ninety eight percent human, and two percent avian. This makes him a half breed with DNA of a bird. Anyway, I think my version of Fang came out looking pretty cool, and if you are fan of the series, you will love learning "how to draw Fang", step by step. It really isn't that hard to draw Maximum Ride characters at all when you do it right. That does it for now, I will be back later with more drawing fun. STEP 1.
Begin this first step for Fang by drawing out his head shape, and then the guidelines for his body like so. Be sure to include the lining for his large wings, and then move to the next step.
STEP 2.
As you can see by looking at this step, you will start sketching out his face, and then draw the eyes, and the one piece of his hair strand.
STEP 3.
Finish sketching out the style of his messy looking hair, but for me, I drew it to look somewhat neat. The back of his head looks like he is sporting a ponytail, but you can draw his hair more strangely if you like.
STEP 4.
Okay, I know this lesson seems wicked long, but believe or not, you are actually almost done. All you need to do now is begin sketching out his shoulders, arms and or sleeves, and then his torso or the rest of his shirt. Add the crinkles, and crease lines like you see here, as well as his collar. Lastly, color in his eyes
STEP 5.
Finish drawing out his arms, and be sure to draw out the cuffs on the sleeves. You will then draw out his hand, and then draw the shape of his legs which is in an awesome epic pose.
STEP 6.
Finish sketching out the rest of Fang's pants, and then draw out his feet and or shoes like you see here. Once that is done you can start sketching out his awesome wings, and the wing span. You should draw his wings the same way I taught you in the past when drawing any type of bird wings. Add some detailing to the pants, hand, and wings like so, and then start erasing all the lines and shapes you drew in step one.
STEP 7.
Lastly, add the wing detailing like so, and then add an Alfalfa on the top of his head. That's it, your done.
STEP 8.
When all is said and done, your sketch of Fang should come out looking awesome like you see here. All you need to do now is color him in. Don't forget guys, Maximum Ride is going to be coming out with a movie.Comments: Post Comment
