Over the years there has been so many video game characters, and figures that has grazed televisions across the globe. When I was doing my drawings yesterday I wanted to create a character that is as old as Mario himself. The only difference between the two is that one is a human, and the other is an animal, or primate to be exact. Thinking back, I can remember one of the very first games I have ever played, and there is one distinct game that brings back the most memories. The game was called "Donkey Kong", and believe it or not, but Mario made his debut with this very game. He was to rescue Princess Peach from the very powerful Donkey Kong, almost like the movie King Kong. Over the years Mario stared in his own game series called Mario Bros. which also has figures like Princess Peach, Luigi, and Bowser. Then Donkey Kong came out with his own game series which stared other primates like Diddy Kong, and other popular monkeys like Dixie, and Donkey Kong Jr. Anyways, I thought a tutorial on "how to draw Diddy Kong", step by step would be super cool because almost everybody loves Diddy, and his adventures. The lesson is going to be really simple to learn from because the steps are few, and they will also be easy to follow. Diddy Kong is said to be the nephew of Donkey, and if you look at the list of all the Kong's there are in existence, it would blow your mind. I didn't even know that there was so many family members until now. I think Diddy made his video game debut in Donkey Kong Country, and then again in Donkey Kong Country 2 which stars Dixie Kong, and Diddy. The two go on a search and rescue mission as they embark on a journey until they find Diddy's uncle Donkey. Anyway, I had so much fun when I drew out this character because it brought back so many memories from when I was a kid. I think you guys will enjoy learning "how to draw Diddy Kong" as well because he is a child video game figure for us all. Nintendo really knew what they where doing when they created this ape. I shall return in a few moments so stay tuned in and try not to go anywhere far. Peace out people!

STEP 1.

Begin this first step by making two circles, one for his head, and then one for the body. You will then add the facial guidelines and then add a connecting line that brings the head and body together. Add the arm and tail lines too.

STEP 2.

Now let's start sketching out the shape of his mouth which is also his muzzle and face. Once this is done you will need to make an inner line for the lower lip, and then be sure to draw the outline of his ear.

STEP 4.

Draw the top lid of Diddy's mouth, and then draw out his tongue. The next thing you will do is begin sketching out his active looking shirt like you see here, and then draw in a star in the front or center of the shirt. Don't forget to draw out his other hand, and then some of his right leg or thigh, as well as his tail.

STEP 5.

It is now time to finish off this character, and you will do this by drawing out the rest of his legs, and then draw in his hand like feet. Don't forget to add some definition to the arch of the foot like so. Erase the lines and shapes you drew in step one to clean up your drawing.

STEP 6.

In the end you will have a nice drawing of Diddy Kong, and it should look just like the one you see here. Color him in, and you have just finished another sketch. Great work everybody!
