Well, it's July sixteenth which means the third series of the Twilight saga has been out for nearly a month now. To celebrate how awesome the movie was, I wanted to do a lesson of the hands and apple that is on the book cover that started the whole phenomenon. Today, I will be showing you guys "how to draw Twilight", step by step. Up until Eclipse, I had no idea what people where so hyped up about when they said “team Jacob” or "team Edward”. In the beginning, I thought Edward was such an awesome character because he always had this James Dean quality about him. After watching Eclipse, I must say that I'm team Jacob all the way. Jacob is cooler then ever, and he really makes a big impression in the third part of the four part series. Don't get me wrong, Edward is uber cool too, I just like Jacob's character way better. The cover of the first book was probably one of the prettiest covers I have ever seen for a vampire novel. As with every writers cover image, there had to be some message behind the pale white hands holding a bright red apple. After careful reading and researching, I found out what message Stepenie Meyer was sending out. She said the the cover for Twilight meant a lot to her, and she wanted the message to convey her feelings. The hands are supposed to be either Edwards or another vampires, and the apple is supposed to represent the forbidden fruit. See, Edward and Bella are not technically supposed to be together, and this is what the cover depicts. Edwards hands are holding Bella's heart, a forbidden love that will never really be excepted by any human, or the vampire, unless of course she was to turn into a vampire herself. I guess you could say that Bella and Edward have such an intense love and passion for each other, and because of this, they both know that even though one can't live without the other, their love that they have is all they know. I really had an awesome time drawing out the beautiful sketch, and if you are a fan of Stepenie Meyer's books, you will also love teaching yourself "how to draw Twilight" too. As for me, I still think of Eclipse even though I seen it over two weeks ago. I can totally watch the movie again, and again, and again. But for now, I will continue to draw and create new lessons for all my fellow artists to enjoy as I know you will enjoy this one you see before you now. Adios people, and have an awesome drawing day!
