Today is the day that I upload a lesson that will be on another character from The Lion King, and to tell you the truth, I can honestly say that I can't believe that I never did this character before because he is one of the main animals that makes the whole movie what it is. He is not seen as much in Simba's Pride, but he does make a few appearances. Today I will show you "how to draw Rafiki", step by step. If you are a fan of Disney's flick, you should know who exactly Rafiki is. He is a mandrill baboon that lives in a baobab tree where he does all of his meditating, and has his inspirational thoughts. I guess you can say that he is somewhat of a shaman Rafiki is a wise old sole that is a loyal, and compassionate friend to Mufasa, and more of an logical adviser to Simba. In the beginning of the first movie, it is Rafiki that carries out a ritual which is executed when the King of the pride lands son is born. He cracks open a melon, and takes the juices from the inside to wipe across baby Simba's head. Once that part of the ritual is done, he walks up the rock, and presents the new prince to all the animals of the kingdom. Although Rafiki doesn't talk too much in the films, he is often used as a narrator. Does anyone remember the old television series called “Benson”? Well, if you do, you should know that the main character Benson, is who provides the voice talent of Rafiki. His real name is Robert Guillaume, and although he doesn't look it, he is now nearly eighty three years old. Rafiki walks around on either all fours, or upright. One of his signature objects is his tall wooden staff which he carries everywhere, and he is even see uses it as a weapon when he fights off the hyena's when Scar's reign of king comes to an end. I have always been fond of Rafiki because he is such a quite character. I think you guys will have fun learning "how to draw Rafiki", step by step because it is always fun drawing a character from The Lion King. I shall return with some other tutorials for you all so stay tuned in because there is much, much more on the way. Peace peeps, and have an awesome drawing day!
