Has anyone heard of the new movie Despicable Me? Well, I just learned about it, and I can honestly say that I look forward to seeing it when it comes to DVD. I would watch it in the theaters but to me, a movie such as this isn’t worth paying for. The only reason why I would want to see the flick, is because Steve Carell is going to be the voice actor for the main character in the computer generated movie. What am I talking about you ask? Well, I’m talking about a character named Gru, and that is what this lesson will be on today. I don’t know too much about his background, but I can tell you what I have learned by surfing the net. From what I've read, Despicable Me is a story about Gru who is a man that is looking to steal the moon with the aid of his mischievous minions that he created. Gru lives in a black colored house that is surrounded by a dead lawn. He does all of his sneaky plots in a hideout that is located beneath his home. I guess you could say that Gru has a personality relative to the Grinch or Ebeneezer Scrooge because like those two characters, he loves anything that brings misery, or wickedness to others. He is also equipped with an arsenal of weapons like shrink rays, freeze rays, and even vessels that can carry him through land or air. All seems well for Gru, and his plan to steal the moon seems like it’s going to be a go. Of course that is before his life is turned upside down by three orphaned girls that seem to think that Gru would make a wonderful, loving father. The girls are Margo, Edith, and Agnes. After reading what I have, I came to think that this may be a movie worth watching in a theater. Who knows, maybe it will be a surprising delight like How to Train Your Dragon was. Nonetheless, you will get to learn "how to draw Gru", step by step. I think you will find that when it comes to drawing Despicable Me characters, you will be surprised on how easy it really is. I shall return with more drawing fun to try and stay tuned in because I do have more on the way. Adios my fellow artist and friends, until we meet again.
